I am a straight up TERRIBLE gift giver. I guess I’m not very creative or maybe it’s because I’m not as sentimental as some people, but it’s something I’m working on, ok!? Stop judging me!! I’m trying to get better at thinking up unique gifts for a selective few in my life for the holidays that seem to be just around the corner. And since all of us are “photographers” because of our smart phones nowadays, it’s easy to get your hands on beautiful photos that capture the memories that your friends and family members cherish so much. Then once you have your hands on those memories, all you have to do is capture them in a unique way to gift that special person in your life.
Don’t worry. I’m here to help!
I’ve found the perfect affordable way to showcase those memories so you can give an incredibly thoughtful gift without breaking the bank. Walmart makes it super easy to download your photos, pick the perfect size and frame, then either have it delivered or pick it up in store! You can pick from printing on canvas, metal, or even wood. Or you can simply frame your photos for a sleek, simple look.
When I finally faced the music that the holidays were in full swing, I decided it was time to put my decorating pants on and finally finish some of the blank space in our house. And I started with our bedroom. When my husband and I got engaged, I printed a couple of our engagement photos on canvas through a different company and it was SO expensive. But I had no idea where else to buy them so I did what any rational person would do…I closed my eyes and clicked purchase. I didn’t know any better and I definitely didn’t know that Walmart printed photos on canvas at a much more affordable price point.
When I started to think up what I would want in the blank space above my dresser, I started looking through my phone for photos. Our phones have such amazing cameras on them nowadays that it’s incredibly easy to find hi-res images perfect for printing. And as I scrolled through my phone to find my favorites, I noticed that every single favorite photo was one that was taken on the beach or in the water. There was a definite theme going and I ran with it! I first chose a photo that was taken on the beach in Jamaica where we got married. Then a photo in Lake Powell, where I first fell in love with my husband. Then I found a beautiful photo from the Caribbean trip I just went on with my sister-in-law. And lastly, I snagged a beautiful sunrise photo from the balcony of our hotel in Costa Rica for our 1 year anniversary! I literally took 4 of my favorite memories and was able to bring them to life on 4 separate beautiful 12×12 canvas, instead of them being forgotten about on my phone. Which happens SO MUCH nowadays.
And once I got all these photos up, I instantly wanted to do this for someone else! Every time I walk into our room now, I get to reminisce on all the memories I had in every single one of these trips. And it truly brings me joy and makes me even more excited for the future. Which is definitely needed around the holidays!
Walmart makes it SO easy to download the images, move the image to fit the canvas just right, then simply check out and decide if I wanted to pick them up or have them delivered. And since picking them up was the quicker option, I decided on that and they were ready to go in just a few days! Since I had already paid online, I was in the store for seriously 30 seconds! All I had to do was give my name and I was on my way! It was all so easy, convenient and affordable!
I may be a bit of a Scrooge, but I love me a good memory. And I know others do, too. We take thousands upon thousands of photos every year because of our phones…why not make take those memories and bring them to life? Those special photos mean something to us and showing someone you care enough to frame them is truly showing them how much you love them! And who knows…maybe it will turn a Scrooge like me into a holiday lover! Those amazing memories are pretty powerful, especially when you get to see them daily!

May I ask where that chest of drawers is from?
american furniture warehouse! but i honestly don’t recommend them. they don’t pull over very far which makes digging in the drawer and closing the drawers super annoying
Well, they look good! AFW furnished my entire first apartment in Denver 10 years ago… I have none of that stuff now 😐
Looks great. How do you find the quality of the Walmart prints compared to the more expensive company? Thanks
the quality was awesome!! especially since all my photos were taken on my phone. they came out looking exactly like the photo on my phone!
Ok, you’ve convinced me! I have some adorable pics from my trip to the Bahamas with my daughter. We took a 2 1/2 hour boat ride to visit the pigs on that crazy little island. Amazing memories and the pics were some of my most popular on Instagram, but of course I never printed any. Love the idea of the canvas!
it’s such a fun way to decorate!
