I’m doing it. My very first giveaway. I’m so excited! I’ve never done one. But when the opportunity came up to spread the word about the Well Fed Cookbook by Melissa Joulwan of The Clothes Make the Girl, I couldn’t pass it up! If you haven’t seen her cookbook yet, which I’m guessing 96% of you have, you are missing out! Not only did Melissa self publish this book, but she did it incredibly well. The photography is magnificent, the recipes are different from what you’ll find in most paleo blogs, and her voice is wonderful. It’s an easy to read, easy to look at, and easy to love paleo cookbook, and there are definitely not enough of those out there…yet! The time and effort put into this cookbook shows and everyone should have it on their bookshelf OR sitting in the kitchen next to some bacon grease…like mine.
And one of the best things about this cookbook is that it is for all kinds of paleo eaters. If you are new to paleo and are looking to make something very simple, she has that. She talks about the importance of spices and easy ways to incorporate flavors into simple dishes. And if you are a paleo-pro, she has all kind of recipes and new ideas that will spark your interest. Ever heard of machacado? You have? Whatever. To me, it seems pretty fancy. But Melissa makes it so simple that a paleo-newb to a paleo-pro could enjoy every last bite of every recipe she has.
The Well Fed Cookbook brings the spirit of every culture into paleo cooking, and that is not something you find every day.
If there is one thing I love the most about this book, it’s that the author. Melissa is an incredibly good person. She is kind, caring, and incredibly thoughtful. When I emailed her asking a question about how she got started on the publishing train, she emailed me back within minutes. She cares for everyone and that’s a pretty amazing quality to have. I believe good things happen to good people and I hope that GREAT things happen to her.
But anyways, enough with the gushy stuff. Here is how to win the cookbook:

A buddy of mine at the gym recommended this cookbook and said everything was awesome. Can’t wait to try it out.
I have secondary progressive multiple sclerosis. all the drugs have failed, diet is the only card I have left to play. This would really help play that card.
I am a FB follower of TCMTG, and tweeted as well.
I MUST own this cook book irl (in real life) because I just borrowed it on Friday night from my Kindle library… and spent the entire day Saturday reading the book front to back!! (I honestly never knew you could read a cookbook front to back like that. This book is unlike ANY cookbook I’ve ever seen or owned). I MUST own a hard copy for my kitchen (I have to give my virtual copy back to the Kindle library… sadface). Please oh please pick me! 😉
This is already on my list of Paleo cookbooks that i want to buy. I love Melissa’s foodmap in ISWF. Congratulations on the giveaway and I hope this means we may see a book from you too!
I started eating paleo 8 weeks ago as a 6 week challenge to myself. I lost 9 pounds & 16 inches in that 6 weeks!! And I broke my 3-a-day Dr. Pepper-must-have-caffeine-to-function addiction. I can’t even estimate how many hours I spend online looking for Paleo recipes for me, with hopes that the rest of my non-Paleo family will eat & enjoy. I would love, love, LOVE to have a cookbook to reference!
I am FINALLY getting fully committed to Paleo – I have had several “false starts!” I am on Day 7 of Whole30 and would love to have the Well Fed CookBook to keep me motivated and on-track 🙂
I already follow Mel on Facebook and don’t twitter. I don’t have her book already, but I would definitely take it. I do read her blog regularly, and she rocks (not as much as Juli B, but she did roller derby for gawd’s sake).
I would LOVE to win this cookbook so I can get some new recipes to convince my overweight, diabetic, arthritic, insomniac, high-blood-pressurized husband that eating paleo isn’t boring! I’ve been doing pretty well cooking-wise so far, he eats what I cook and always speaks highly of my creations, but would love to wow him and not go back to the same old thing time and time again. Try as I might, he won’t eat paleo of his own accord, just when I cook for him. Left to his own devices its cream-filled-sugar-crusted-gluten. Maybe leaving this cookbook out on the counter will entice him!
Almost 1 week into the 21-day sugar detox and have been sifting through all of your recipes. They are all glorious and I’m looking to dive into some new recipes. Plus, if the pictures in this book are as flippin’ awesome as you make them sound, it’s going to make the experience of cooking even more awesome.
JULI !!! Pick me! Pick Me! Why? Because I’m a paleo newbie (just in for 2 weeks so far and loving it) and I need lots of recipes and inspiration. PLUS, I live in Southeast Alaska…cool huh? PLUS, I promise to feed you all of the awesome oysters, dungess crab, halibut, salmon, ling cod, yellow eye, black tail deer that you can possibly eat if you if visit me in Alaska!
I love your blog and your attitude! 🙂 U Rock the Paleo World!
