I’m doing it. My very first giveaway. I’m so excited! I’ve never done one. But when the opportunity came up to spread the word about the Well Fed Cookbook by Melissa Joulwan of The Clothes Make the Girl, I couldn’t pass it up! If you haven’t seen her cookbook yet, which I’m guessing 96% of you have, you are missing out! Not only did Melissa self publish this book, but she did it incredibly well. The photography is magnificent, the recipes are different from what you’ll find in most paleo blogs, and her voice is wonderful. It’s an easy to read, easy to look at, and easy to love paleo cookbook, and there are definitely not enough of those out there…yet! The time and effort put into this cookbook shows and everyone should have it on their bookshelf OR sitting in the kitchen next to some bacon grease…like mine.

And one of the best things about this cookbook is that it is for all kinds of paleo eaters. If you are new to paleo and are looking to make something very simple, she has that. She talks about the importance of spices and easy ways to incorporate flavors into simple dishes. And if you are a paleo-pro, she has all kind of recipes and new ideas that will spark your interest. Ever heard of machacado? You have? Whatever. To me, it seems pretty fancy. But Melissa makes it so simple that a paleo-newb to a paleo-pro could enjoy every last bite of every recipe she has.

The Well Fed Cookbook brings the spirit of every culture into paleo cooking, and that is not something you find every day.

If there is one thing I love the most about this book, it’s that the author. Melissa is an incredibly good person. She is kind, caring, and incredibly thoughtful. When I emailed her asking a question about how she got started on the publishing train, she emailed me back within minutes. She cares for everyone and that’s a pretty amazing quality to have. I believe good things happen to good people and I hope that GREAT things happen to her.

But anyways, enough with the gushy stuff. Here is how to win the cookbook:

I would love to win this book because my boyfriend and I recently went paleo to improve our health. He is 60+ Ibs overweight and I am a type 1 diabetic. Cooking has never been my strong spot but I have found the paleo recipes to be incredibly easy to make and they have all tasted great (much to my suprise!). I print out all the recipes I find and they are all over the place!! It would be great to finally own a cookbook I can use and be proud of!

I would love to have this cookbook…(correction)….I really ‘need’ this cookbook! I have had a ‘ball’ lately experimenting with all foods PALEO. Even hubby is enjoying this new way of eating. I feel a lot more energised, which is tough when you have SLE (Lupus). I am hoping that by winning this cookbook, my energy levels and health will improve 10-fold.

I’m not new to eating but I am new to Paleo. I enjoy your blog, especially your recipes. I’ve been a lousy cook forever but you’ve created some dishes that have changed my husbands usual response from, “it’s alright” to “I like sausage mushroom thingy.” So thanks for that! I’d like to make more delicious food and the Well Fed Cookbook might help. Thanks!

Hi Melissa, I’m in awe of you positivity and passion for food and would love to be able to expand my knowledge of paleo eating through your work of art. I’m a self confessed obsessed CrossFitter and am interested in experimenting with my nutrition to see the effects it has on my training and mindset. 🙂

Hello! I recently ran across the Easy Paleo blog, and she just cooked through Well Fed. The pictures look amazing! I have been trying and mostly failing to shift towards Paleo for the past two years. I do so well, then fall on my face, and have a really hard time getting back up… (It takes me months). This cookbook isn’t going to help me not fall off the wagon (that’s on me), but I would love to cook some delicious food! PS – I found your website because I was looking at the 21 day sugar detox on facebook. Love it!

Still pretty new to the Paleo diet; this cookbook would be a great help!

  9. Becca says:

I’d love this cookbook because I definitely need more good paleo recipes. I have autoimmune issues and feel so much better following a paleo diet, but I’m also addicted to sugar and sweets and baking, so I need more meal recipes! 🙂
