I’m doing it. My very first giveaway. I’m so excited! I’ve never done one. But when the opportunity came up to spread the word about the Well Fed Cookbook by Melissa Joulwan of The Clothes Make the Girl, I couldn’t pass it up! If you haven’t seen her cookbook yet, which I’m guessing 96% of you have, you are missing out! Not only did Melissa self publish this book, but she did it incredibly well. The photography is magnificent, the recipes are different from what you’ll find in most paleo blogs, and her voice is wonderful. It’s an easy to read, easy to look at, and easy to love paleo cookbook, and there are definitely not enough of those out there…yet! The time and effort put into this cookbook shows and everyone should have it on their bookshelf OR sitting in the kitchen next to some bacon grease…like mine.

And one of the best things about this cookbook is that it is for all kinds of paleo eaters. If you are new to paleo and are looking to make something very simple, she has that. She talks about the importance of spices and easy ways to incorporate flavors into simple dishes. And if you are a paleo-pro, she has all kind of recipes and new ideas that will spark your interest. Ever heard of machacado? You have? Whatever. To me, it seems pretty fancy. But Melissa makes it so simple that a paleo-newb to a paleo-pro could enjoy every last bite of every recipe she has.

The Well Fed Cookbook brings the spirit of every culture into paleo cooking, and that is not something you find every day.

If there is one thing I love the most about this book, it’s that the author. Melissa is an incredibly good person. She is kind, caring, and incredibly thoughtful. When I emailed her asking a question about how she got started on the publishing train, she emailed me back within minutes. She cares for everyone and that’s a pretty amazing quality to have. I believe good things happen to good people and I hope that GREAT things happen to her.

But anyways, enough with the gushy stuff. Here is how to win the cookbook:

I competed in my first fitness show about a year ago & had many stomach issues since. I started seeing a holistic chiropractor who tested me for many different food allergies…dairy, gluten, coffee, sugar & sugar substitutes. He found that my stomch was inside my diaghram (not sure of spelling or if it is the other way around lol) and a rib was out! I have slowly added some of the foods back in besides gluten & dairy but still having troubles with my stomach and insane mood swings! I eat very very clean but need more help with meals!! I am a personal trainer & dance teacher and I hope to motivate my clients & dancers like you have inspired and motivated me to be aware of what goes into my body!! So thank you 🙂 this is my absolutely favorite blog!! I have done some CF & can’t wait to do more…just need to be able to afford the damn membership but I’m going to make it work!!! 🙂 not sure I will compete again, but CF is my new goal!!! Thank you for everything & sorry for this novel 🙂 i cannot wait to try more paleo recipes & especially WellFed!!!!!

I would love to have this cookbook! I just found your site last night and I love it. I’m in Colo Springs so we’re close 🙂 My husband and I are doing our first Whole 30 challenge starting the 15th so this cookbook would help us out tremendously. I don’t FB or Twitter so this may be a deal breaker for winning :/

I am on day 8 of the Paleo diet to prove to my doctors that a girl in her late 20’s with a healthy weight and standard lifestyle does not need to be on statins. My cholesterol is RIDICULOUSLY high, but I ate too many carbs and loved chocolate way too much. This diet was VERY hard for the first 2-3 days, but I am starting to feel much better. My problem – the cravings are not 100% gone and I am getting BORED with my food…espcecially my snacks. I love to cook, but with a new baby, a 3 year old and a full-time job, my time is, well, limited, so this book really appeals to me.

I just came across your website today. For four years, I was so tired I couldn’t work. Drs couldn’t find out what was wrong with me. Finally decided to diet and discovered I can’t eat sugar and flour etc. I now work two jobs, with energy to spare! the reason I need the cook book is because I get a little bored with my food and end up eating something I shouldn’t and then I’m down for the count for awhile. I need some great recipes to keep me from destroying myself!

I have heard so many wonderful things about this book, it is on my list! Since going paleo I have lost 80#, and have been enjoying food so much more. Thanks Juli, for a wonderful site!

Wow! Bring out the giveaways and the comments start flying. I didn’t know there were that many people that read your page 🙂 They should read your page though, because it’s total awesomeness!
Liked, Tweeted, and really want the book. I’ve been eyeing it for months now, but B&N says that they can only special order it, and it’s going to cost me well over $50 to do that… Sorry B&N, but that’s lame. Winning it would be so much easier on the pocketbook 🙂

i should win because it would save me the time from going to barnes and nobles and making a photocopy of each page. that would take a long time, and i would develop an appetite from all that theft. but without a full cookbook, i’d have to stop at mcdonalds and eat a big mac. BUT… if you give me one, then i don’t have to waste my time, waste paper, break copyright laws, or eat mcdonalds. and tell me: do you really want me eating a big mac on your conscience?

I would LOVE to have this cookbook! I like cooking, but paleo is a *completely* new venture for me. I’ve tried a lot of your recipes and they’re all amazing! The reason I decided to go paleo to begin with is a little health condition I have called PCOS. Basically, my body hates me and rebels in *very* strange ways. Paleo makes me feel good – it’s as simple as that. I’m going to get the book regardless, but free is better than not! 🙂
