I’m doing it. My very first giveaway. I’m so excited! I’ve never done one. But when the opportunity came up to spread the word about the Well Fed Cookbook by Melissa Joulwan of The Clothes Make the Girl, I couldn’t pass it up! If you haven’t seen her cookbook yet, which I’m guessing 96% of you have, you are missing out! Not only did Melissa self publish this book, but she did it incredibly well. The photography is magnificent, the recipes are different from what you’ll find in most paleo blogs, and her voice is wonderful. It’s an easy to read, easy to look at, and easy to love paleo cookbook, and there are definitely not enough of those out there…yet! The time and effort put into this cookbook shows and everyone should have it on their bookshelf OR sitting in the kitchen next to some bacon grease…like mine.
And one of the best things about this cookbook is that it is for all kinds of paleo eaters. If you are new to paleo and are looking to make something very simple, she has that. She talks about the importance of spices and easy ways to incorporate flavors into simple dishes. And if you are a paleo-pro, she has all kind of recipes and new ideas that will spark your interest. Ever heard of machacado? You have? Whatever. To me, it seems pretty fancy. But Melissa makes it so simple that a paleo-newb to a paleo-pro could enjoy every last bite of every recipe she has.
The Well Fed Cookbook brings the spirit of every culture into paleo cooking, and that is not something you find every day.
If there is one thing I love the most about this book, it’s that the author. Melissa is an incredibly good person. She is kind, caring, and incredibly thoughtful. When I emailed her asking a question about how she got started on the publishing train, she emailed me back within minutes. She cares for everyone and that’s a pretty amazing quality to have. I believe good things happen to good people and I hope that GREAT things happen to her.
But anyways, enough with the gushy stuff. Here is how to win the cookbook:

I get most of my recipes online so a book would be amazing! I also had my eye on this book for a while now and would love to win a copy!
The cookbook looks incredible, and thanks for introducing me to her blog!!!
I’ve fallen off the paleo wagon. Hard. I just can’t seem to get back to it. I see the numbers on the scale go up and my stomach expand but I just can’t seem to get out of this stupid rut. I need a good physical cookbook in my kitchen to turn to.
And ps. You need to put out a book with allbyour recipes too. I’d love to have it all in one place.
Been doing paleo for 6 weeks and have lost 7 pounds and two pant sizes and have never felt better! My husband and I look forward to Sunday food prep days with this amazing new cookbook!! Thank you so much for doing the giveaway- you rock!! 🙂
Since being a part of a 60 challenge at my xfit box that was Whole30 and subsequently being introduced to Whole30 and Paleo eating, I have “found” the love for cooking that I had before I had kids again! I have never felt healthier, eaten better and LOVED finding new recipes and even making some of my own like I do now! Thank you BOTH for exposing me to this…I would love her book so I can continue to grow in my knowledge and share the GREAT recipes w friends and family. =)
I started doing paleo about 3 months ago to just live a healthier life. I am a classically trained chef so when cooking, my mind automatically goes toward ingredients that aren’t so healthy. You’re blog has been a life changed on my road to eating healthier and a cookbook would be amazing in furthering my paleo journey! Please please pick me 🙂
My wife and I are both in the military, and avid Crossfitters. We’ve been experimenting with Paleo, and your website has been a great inspiration for us; not only through great recipes (and commentary), but also through the bonding that comes from cooking together.
Melissa’s book is on our list of “Paleo books we need to get”, and we’ve been making excuses up until now for not getting it (and one of your headbands!), and I think it’s time we ramp things up in our kitchen to feed our box-jumping, burpeeing (sometimes burping) bodies.
My husband and I have 6 children. About 2 months ago, he decided to give Paleo a try. It’s difficult switching to a full Paleo diet with egg and dairy allergies in some of our children. This cookbook could really help us in helping ourselves and our children!
Hey there! I’d love to have a copy of this cookbook. I search the internet for recipes & ideas for Paleo dishes, and find plenty but its too scattered. I need a lot of ideas, in one place within reach. Been following Paleo on/off for several months now… Always feel better when I’m ‘on’
Thanks in advance for your consideration 🙂
My only Paleo “cookbook” is an old binder with 70,000 loose pieces of paper on which I’ve printed or scribbled recipes from the Internet. Winning “Well Fed” would really help with my kitchen chaos, since about 30,000 of my papers are already from her site. Thanks for doing the giveaway!
