You know what time it is?! Time to get moving on Christmas Day (or whatever holiday you and your family celebrate)!! This week is filled with Hanukkah, Christmas, Kwanza, Boxing Day, and I have no clue what else. I did a quick calendar search and was quite surprised to see that Hanukkah lasts for 8 days. That’s badass. Anywho, holidays usually mean time inside with the family, doing a whole lot of nothing. At least that is our schedule this year. We are going to eat breakfast, clean up, then spend hours putting together a charcuterie board since we are suddenly in a competition with one of our friends. He’s a bit of an architect (kind of, but not really, but I also may not really know exactly what he does for a living), so I’m sure his is going to be outrageous, which means we need to step our game up and go big. Be sure to check out my instagram stories Christmas Day because I’m going to let you guys decided who has the best board!!

Ok back to the point, if you are anything like us, you will be inside eating, watching movies, and whipping up cocktails. And if your gym is closed on Christmas morning, not to worry – you can workout at home in the comfort of your own living room, kitchen, bedroom, or wherever else you see fit! This workout is simple, effective, and will have you feeling happy and excited for the rest of the day! Here’s what it looks like –

5 rounds of:

  • 10 Slider Lateral Lunges (each side)
  • 8 Burpee into 2 Push-Ups
  • 8 Slider Reverse Lunge into Slider Static Lunge (each side)
  • 10 Lying Side Crunch to Hip Tap (each side)

Then after you complete your 5 rounds, complete 2 rounds (try to go unbroken!!) of:

  • 10 Mountain Climbers
  • 10 Rotating Mountain Climbers
  • 10 Pike Jumps
  • 10 Knee Tucks
  • 10 Spiderman Plank Jumps

For the slider movements, I just used a kitchen towel on the hardwood floors, nothing fancy! Then I used the runner rug as my yoga mat. No real equipment needed for this one! This workout targets the glutes, legs, shoulders, chest, back, abs, obliques, and more! Check out this video of all the movements below!

I’m 100% supportive of doing absolutely nothing on Christmas Day, but if you like to move a little before the day gets going, hopefully this gives you some inspiration in your own home! There is nothing wrong with getting those endorphins going before a day filled with family, opinions, and often politics. Hope you guys like this one!!

Hi Juli! Hope you and the clan had a Merry Christmas. As always, your posts all bring a smile to my face! First of all, thanks for sharing all your recipes and exercises. You have me hooked but I was wondering if you could share with us your take on portion control. My New Years resolution is to be as fit and healthy as you and my myth is that when I cook healthy, I can have more. LOL! How do you monitor, what’s your secret? Is there one? Appreciate any suggestions and thanks for being such as inspiration!

after 32 years on this earth, i found what works best for ME is not creating any sort of restriction around food. if i say i can’t have it, i want it so much more. so i don’t restrict anything and i try to stay away from the foods that don’t make me feel my best. but around the holidays, i always indulge more than usual then get back to my normal routine after

This is a great indoor workout!! I will definitely do this when I’m on the road. My boif and I went on a hike on Christmas Day after doing some volunteer work and it was great having that time in the middle of the week to spend some time together being active. We definitely felt better too since we went heavy on the wine and cake on Christmas Eve 🙂
