Baby registries are SO OVERWHELMING. We are having a baby for the first time…and we’re supposed to know what she needs?! Hell if I know! Luckily I found some of the most helpful items through Live Wild Be Well Non-Toxic Baby Registry along with items through friends I follow on instagram. They would link a product they loved in stories and I would save it to add to our registry later. Do I have everything I need on there? Probably not. But that’s why having Amazon at our finger tips these days is a true lifesaver. We’ll figure out the rest along the way!
Hopefully this list helps you build your own baby registry! And if you think I’m missing any MUST HAVE items, please leave a comment in the comment section below!

Hi Juli and Baby Girl!
Not much to add but I loved primally pure baby balm-never had diaper rash. Can even use on sore nipples if need be and don’t need to wash off prior to nursing. A warm cuddly blanket.
My little boy LOVES books, not sure if you want to add any toys.
And I feel like you would like ontrackbaby on IG. Very insightful. Your little girl is lucky to have you!
I’m so happy for you, Juli! I’ve loved watching your pregnancy journey on Instagram! I don’t have kiddos of my own, but I have been a pediatric occupational therapist for 10 years. I work with babies frequently to address oral motor skills related to feeding. I would recommend a silicone feeder for when you start to introduce solids or need something to help with teething. Haakaa makes one, but there are many other brands, as well. I love the NumNum Pre-Spoon GOOtensils to work on self-feeding with utensils. I highly recommend straw cups instead of sippy cups. Straws facilitate better oral motor development, which helps with feeding and speech. I will use a Honey Bear with a silicone straw (sets can be purchased on Amazon) to help children learn how to suck from a straw and then transition to a straw cup. There are many straw cup options available. I’m happy to answer any questions you might have!
I just saw that you have the Haakaa silicone feeder on your registry already, so ignore that suggestion :).
Baby bum brush (we call it the butt spatula) – essential for diaper cream application! This is my favorite shower gift.
Milk snob or similar nursing cover – light weight and soft. Acts as nursing covers, car seat cover, stroller cover and small blanket.
Oxo weighted wipe container. This is a game changer so you get one wipe at a time. This is something we didn’t have with our first and wish we did – otherwise you will be trying to separate the wipes as you are wrestling a baby with a poopy butt.
We also loved having the stroller we could just click in our car seat to when they were tiny. Made transition easier in and out of car, etc.
We used cloth diaper inserts – the old style as burp cloths. Durable and can handle a lot of liquid. Less expensive than the fancy thin burp cloths.
Different kinds of swaddles. And put one in your birthing center bag because blanket swaddling is hard when you re sleep deprived. My girls loved the love to dream swaddles.
agree with this!
IMO muslin swaddles suck!
Milkmaid Goods or Copper Pearl brands were awesome!!
Ollie baby swaddle!
Great list and some great reccomendations in the comments (changing pad liners, haaka manual pump, & electric nail file). Here are some of my other favorites.
Nursing cami- https://www.target.com/p/women-s-nursing-seamless-cami-auden-8482-black-l/-/A-53927527
Bandana bibs are cute but these are better at least for dealing with spit up- https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08L67T8SC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_FBJMRP89Z9BANZ5SY97S?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Favorite burp cloths- https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07W478RKY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_1G3B28J0B80QH43FA9KW
Our girl didnt take a paci (tried so many) but loved her mushroom- https://www.amazon.com/dp/B081RGV5RQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apan_glt_i_W5EX9GQE4QSSZXG042S1?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Oh and zipper sleepers! Buttons are cute but zippers are so much easier and quicker.
Elvie curve and Ollie swaddle!
I loved using the hakaa for the first feeding of the morning, so I didn’t waste any milk that would leak from the side I was not feeding on. BUT I spilled it several times, and that is just the saddest thing ever. I am going to try the Elvie curve for that purpose this time!
Also, we have a pretty basic pack n play and it’s fine, but the mattress is terrible. I got a separate pack n play mattress from Amazon (made by hiccapop) to throw in there… total game changer!
The Baby Bjorn bouncer was my favorite thing ever! We would plop him in there next to the table when we were eating. Total lifesaver! We also loved the Skip Hop Activity Center, but my baby couldn’t use it until around 6 months. He’s 20 months now and still uses it converted to a table with chairs. I agree with others on Love to Dream swaddles. We stopped swaddling at 8 weeks per AAP guidelines and switched to Carters sleep sacks which were great. FYI You have the Snuggleme lounger under “sleep time,” but it is not safe. Totally fine if baby is awake, but it is actually super dangerous to sleep in. They even say on the product page that it is not meant for sleep. Congrats on your baby girl! Can’t wait to digitally meet her!
Two things I wish I would have had in my hospital bag was a shusher and the electric nail file. The nail file was a godsend for their sharp little claws. I found that buying bottles pre -baby was a bad decision because he didn’t like any of them. I would also highly recommend the butt spatula. It sounds extra but it is so worth it. Not getting your fingers all icky. It also took us a few different swaddles and we ended up with the Ollie and that was the best one we found for us.
I didn’t have the chance to read through all the comments. But for yourself I highly recommend the Frida Mom Post partum kit – the peri bottle is separate but worth getting. I honestly don’t get baby gifts for new moms now. I get that kit for them and all the extras. Whether it’s a vaginal birth or c section the kit’s ice packs are literally the most comfortable and soothing. Every new mom has their own recipe for post partum care, experiment with what comes in the kit and find what works best for you.
ooooo yes!! i forgot this in my comment!! Friday Mom Peri Spray bottle and add witch hazel astringent !!
