That’s my excited face.
Oh sh*t. I can’t even hold it in. Word vomit is about to happen. I’M WRITING MY FIRST COOKBOOK!!
I’m literally tearing up just thinking about this. I’ve wanted this for so long and have gone back and forth about how I would accomplish this goal. But once I was approached by Scribe Publishing, I knew it was the right fit. Not only is the Publisher a CrossFitter as well, but she’s a paleo-er who gets my sense of humor and isn’t afraid of what I have to say. She’s so awesome.
I hadn’t thought about a writing a cookbook since my recipes are free over the internet, until readers began to ask for one. Which was very cool. It’s amazing people would actually want to purchase something when they can get it all free online. So really, I’m writing this cookbook for all of you who have supported me and wanted to show that support by purchasing a cookbook. So this cookbook will feature my favorite PaleOMG recipes along with many new recipes you won’t be able to find on the blog. Already have some good stuff for you!!
So what I want to know is, what are YOU looking for in a paleo cookbook? What is helpful to you and what would make your life easier in a paleo cookbook? Please leave your comments below and give your ideas because I’m making this cookbook for YOU all!
ANNNNNNND, omg, yes there is more. I’m now in the first steps of creating a PaleOMG app. Let’s be real here, obviously I am not the person doing it, I know nothing about anything…except sweets, but my good friend Peter who also put my website together for me, is doing the job. He’s amazing and spectacular so I’m trusting him to create something wonderful. BUT I want and need to know what you are looking for in a paleo app. I don’t do apps, I don’t really get them. I downloaded a food porn app once, but I’ve only looked at it once when I was too hungover to get out of bed. True story. So I need to know what people who actually use apps would like to see in a PaleOMG app?
Are you mad because there isn’t a recipe? Don’t you worry, there will be plenty all week!

oh yeah and a section for meals “crap its 6pm and i havent planned dinner yet” that can be made in 15 minutes. and i second the, lots of pictures. although i suspect that is already part of your plan. 🙂
Congrats! I look forward to the cookbook!
Congrats!!! You must be feeling awesome!!! I can’t wait to see how things come along. 😀
Congrats! I will for sure buy your book when it comes out. I LOVE your recipes. Something i have been wishing for from the paleo community is a cookbook with freezer friendly meals. Paleo can be a lot of work and some weeks, the time just isn’t there. I would love to have a collection of meals that i can stock my freezer with. Freezer to crockpot would be especially awesome.
I AM SO EXCITED!!!! (can you tell by the CAPS!?!?). I have been wondering why you didn’t already have a cookbook!…??…
We try your recipes ALL the time…keep doing what you’re doing…great job. Super happy for you! 🙂
Congrats! Already been said, but in paleo cookbooks, I like to see:
1. Paleo basic ingredients
2. Menu ideas – entree & sides
3. pre/post workout meals – particularly that can be made in advance.
4. Quickie meals + crockpot meals – ie) make huge pork roast on Sunday in the crockpot, eat half Sunday, shred and make enchiladas Monday.
5. Lunch & snack ideas that are packable for work. Thanks Juli! love the site, can’t wait for the cookbook.
This is SO awesome! I will certainly buy your cookbook. You have been so helpful in providing food that has made the transition to Paleo easy for me and my husband. There is no other place website that gets as much love from me as yours! In fact my sweet potato brownies and sweet potato chili fries for lunch are making this a totally paleomg day!
I would like to see step by step pictures (its always helpful to see what its supposed to look like as I’m not a natural cook, but am great at following instructions).
I love substitue ingredients suggestions in a cookbook (especially since again, I’m not a natural cook and have no idea what any one ingredient brings to the table).
Your website is fantastic. I love your blog. I love your recipes even more. Its probably a good thing I moved from Denver before I start eating Paleo because I probably would have tried to become your friend in the least creeping way possible, but probably still a little creepy :p
definitely have a picture for every recipe, I never want to make a recipe if I can’t see what it’s gonna look like!
Veggie sides. I know they’re not as glamorous as protein dishes, and I love the combo dishes you do… mango beef and plantains not even lying I eat it every other week 3-4 servings. Here’s the thing we live in Colorado and we don’t have fresh veggies or all veggies available year round so in the cold Steamboat winters I need ways to change up the few veggies that are available so I can stay energized for WODs! Thanks JB I can’t wait to buy the book it’ll be perfect right next to Well Fed 🙂
woohoo!! congrats girl!! you totes deserve it!!!
I would agree with most.. simple. grocery lists. easy for busy mama’s to follow lol.
I can’t wait to get my hands on one.. maybe you could autograph some? hint hint 🙂
