That’s my excited face.

Oh sh*t. I can’t even hold it in. Word vomit is about to happen. I’M WRITING MY FIRST COOKBOOK!!

I’m literally tearing up just thinking about this. I’ve wanted this for so long and have gone back and forth about how I would accomplish this goal. But once I was approached by Scribe Publishing, I knew it was the right fit. Not only is the Publisher a CrossFitter as well, but she’s a paleo-er who gets my sense of humor and isn’t afraid of what I have to say. She’s so awesome.

I hadn’t thought about a writing a cookbook since my recipes are free over the internet, until readers began to ask for one. Which was very cool. It’s amazing people would actually want to purchase something when they can get it all free online. So really, I’m writing this cookbook for all of you who have supported me and wanted to show that support by purchasing a cookbook. So this cookbook will feature my favorite PaleOMG recipes along with many new recipes you won’t be able to find on the blog. Already have some good stuff for you!!

So what I want to know is, what are YOU looking for in a paleo cookbook? What is helpful to you and what would make your life easier in a paleo cookbook? Please leave your comments below and give your ideas because I’m making this cookbook for YOU all!

ANNNNNNND, omg, yes there is more. I’m now in the first steps of creating a PaleOMG app. Let’s be real here, obviously I am not the person doing it, I know nothing about anything…except sweets, but my good friend Peter who also put my website together for me, is doing the job. He’s amazing and spectacular so I’m trusting him to create something wonderful. BUT I want and need to know what you are looking for in a paleo app. I don’t do apps, I don’t really get them. I downloaded a food porn app once, but I’ve only looked at it once when I was too hungover to get out of bed. True story. So I need to know what people who actually use apps would like to see in a PaleOMG app?

Are you mad because there isn’t a recipe? Don’t you worry, there will be plenty all week!

Yay! Can’t wait to be able to buy your cookbook! Honestly what I’d love has to do with the way it’s printed. Cookbooks need to be able to stay open on the counter! I hate small little trade paperback-sized cookbooks that you have to hold in one hand cause the binding won’t let it lay open on the table.

Kim I totally agree. Someone just gave me a cookbook that actually stood up by itself in a teepee type manner and flipped from the top. I believe the cookbook was by foodmatters. I loved the format of it and I keep it on my counter all the time.

well Deserved Juli! Things I’d like to see in your cookbook. maybe a section for meals under 5 min for lazy people like me. Or Meals with 5 ingredients or less. I’m a big fan of you and your recipes. Especially anything pancakes! maybe just do a whole cookbook on breakfast! Because I basically eat it 4 outta my 6 meals a day 🙂 Or just on desserts. Congrats again!

This is great! I have been printing off recipes and they are in a huge envelope. So having something organized and all together is AWESOME!

Maybe more slow cook ‘fix and forget’ recipes. Looking forward to the finished product.

Congrats! We are definitely buying the cookbook! We’d love some more snack recipes! Also, we love your desserts- they are the best!

As far as the app goes, if you’re planning on an android app, that would be awesome! We don’t have an iphone, so we’re left out of the app game with the paleo stuff. But we’d be on it if it were available!

First, congrats! All rock stars have their day and it looks yours is here, great news Juli! I was hoping to read that you took the full time trainer position at Verve…but ah well, this is cool too! 🙂 We all want a friends & family rate on the book, haha!

Tips in the recipes for balancing healthy and economical…where brand doesn’t matter or organic can slide on this one and where it can’t. I’m always interested in trying to save $ where I can on food as it’s out highest expense every month.

big news, awesome! I agree with others about keeping your story and writing style as you have it on your blog.

a big thing for me is substitutions. EG. can i make this recipe w/o coconut flour because i dont like how it tastes … what can i put in this one to substitute for nuts cause im allergic … just a list of options at the bottom. Egg scramble recipe with other “options” at the bottom. You usually do a lot of this so im sure you’re have it covered!

If it has lots of your personality in it, the cookbook will be great! I hope the cookbook will include some good snack ideas. I am always looking for simple snack or light meal ideas. I like your recipes as most of them are easy to prepare. And I love crockpot recipes. I don’t have much time to cook but I’ve found it’s the best way for me to keep eating paleo, so the easier, the better! Congrats Juli!! Very exciting!
