That’s my excited face.
Oh sh*t. I can’t even hold it in. Word vomit is about to happen. I’M WRITING MY FIRST COOKBOOK!!
I’m literally tearing up just thinking about this. I’ve wanted this for so long and have gone back and forth about how I would accomplish this goal. But once I was approached by Scribe Publishing, I knew it was the right fit. Not only is the Publisher a CrossFitter as well, but she’s a paleo-er who gets my sense of humor and isn’t afraid of what I have to say. She’s so awesome.
I hadn’t thought about a writing a cookbook since my recipes are free over the internet, until readers began to ask for one. Which was very cool. It’s amazing people would actually want to purchase something when they can get it all free online. So really, I’m writing this cookbook for all of you who have supported me and wanted to show that support by purchasing a cookbook. So this cookbook will feature my favorite PaleOMG recipes along with many new recipes you won’t be able to find on the blog. Already have some good stuff for you!!
So what I want to know is, what are YOU looking for in a paleo cookbook? What is helpful to you and what would make your life easier in a paleo cookbook? Please leave your comments below and give your ideas because I’m making this cookbook for YOU all!
ANNNNNNND, omg, yes there is more. I’m now in the first steps of creating a PaleOMG app. Let’s be real here, obviously I am not the person doing it, I know nothing about anything…except sweets, but my good friend Peter who also put my website together for me, is doing the job. He’s amazing and spectacular so I’m trusting him to create something wonderful. BUT I want and need to know what you are looking for in a paleo app. I don’t do apps, I don’t really get them. I downloaded a food porn app once, but I’ve only looked at it once when I was too hungover to get out of bed. True story. So I need to know what people who actually use apps would like to see in a PaleOMG app?
Are you mad because there isn’t a recipe? Don’t you worry, there will be plenty all week!

Love your blog. Love your recipes. My plantain pancakes turned green! Any idea why? They were still very delicious though!
Congratulations! I can’t wait to purchase the book and app (Android version).
Please do us all a favor, though and make sure the book index is legit! Every Paleo cookbook I have, thus far, has a horrible index, including Practical Paleo, where I CANNOT look for an ingredient and then get the specific recipe. I just get page numbers where there might be a recipe or that ingredient was just mentioned. Or when I’m looking up, say waffles…it’s under Frozen Waffles (because that’s the name of the recipe….but how would anyone know to look under FROZEN?”). Please take a look at index of a Better Homes and Garden Cookbook or The Joy of Cooking.
Congrats! I agree with everyone requesting less ingredients and less time. I hate recipes with a thousand ingredients that cost a ton of money. Practicality is key. Also, more snack ideas and convenient breakfast ideas.
Yo! Congrats, girl! Very excited for you.. Just to comment took 5 minutes of scrolling here 😉 Anyway, i’ll def buy your cookbook and keep telling all my non Colorado friends about it 🙂 Also- def ingredient substitutions for the app and/or something like, list the ingredients you have in your cabinet and here is the closest recipe to it kind of thing? I don’t know- I’m sure whatever you come up with will be awesome!
Seriously… Beyond Excited for you!! This is so rad… cookbook AND app!! You’re going places my dear! 😉
Suggestions… I think the very best part about your recipes is the writing, your verbage, the way you ‘talk’ and keep it real (for ex. you label step # whatever as Dig In and Enjoy, lol) Great honest humor. Absolutely my favorite part of you and your site!!
Again, Huge Congratulations!!
Congratulations! Yours might be the first Paleo cookbook I actually buy. My request is desserts, desserts, and more desserts. Your sweet tooth is my sweet tooth’s BFF and your dessert recipes are always off the chain. Congrats again!
How exciting!! Now I can stop printing each individual recipe! I hate cooking from recipes that make you buy 1001 thing that you will never EVER use again- hence why I love what you do. Can it be a Paleo for dummies cookbook bc I really need that :0) can’t wait!!
This is amazing news. I think one of the things that many people in the Paelo community struggle with is how to prepare gamier meat (bison, etc). So how to make a jam up bison burger that the whole family will eat. And how to cook Paleo without being in the kitchen all night.
Also, include your dessert recipes…I’m always bookmarking those.

I thoroughly enjoy every one of your posts. You’re the best!! Can’t wait for the cookbook!
I think if you had a kind of “ingredient’s on hand” section like the “whole foods recipes” app does that would be especially handy since veggies don’t last forever, then I can use up the left overs from meal planning. For sure have a favorites section, and maybe a drag and drop recipe calendar section in the app so we can meal plan even easier! Also, if you had a suggested list of substitutions for stuff that you use in a lot of recipes, for example, honey to called for sugar ratio, or maybe a white sauce substitution recipe, or what to use instead of noodles. I love apps Juli… they make my life SO much easier! I’m super stoked! Also, if you have a section where people can submit their recipes it might be fun to have fellow paleos contributing to an awesome user recipe ideas book along side your already awesome recipes on the app.
