That’s my excited face.

Oh sh*t. I can’t even hold it in. Word vomit is about to happen. I’M WRITING MY FIRST COOKBOOK!!

I’m literally tearing up just thinking about this. I’ve wanted this for so long and have gone back and forth about how I would accomplish this goal. But once I was approached by Scribe Publishing, I knew it was the right fit. Not only is the Publisher a CrossFitter as well, but she’s a paleo-er who gets my sense of humor and isn’t afraid of what I have to say. She’s so awesome.

I hadn’t thought about a writing a cookbook since my recipes are free over the internet, until readers began to ask for one. Which was very cool. It’s amazing people would actually want to purchase something when they can get it all free online. So really, I’m writing this cookbook for all of you who have supported me and wanted to show that support by purchasing a cookbook. So this cookbook will feature my favorite PaleOMG recipes along with many new recipes you won’t be able to find on the blog. Already have some good stuff for you!!

So what I want to know is, what are YOU looking for in a paleo cookbook? What is helpful to you and what would make your life easier in a paleo cookbook? Please leave your comments below and give your ideas because I’m making this cookbook for YOU all!

ANNNNNNND, omg, yes there is more. I’m now in the first steps of creating a PaleOMG app. Let’s be real here, obviously I am not the person doing it, I know nothing about anything…except sweets, but my good friend Peter who also put my website together for me, is doing the job. He’s amazing and spectacular so I’m trusting him to create something wonderful. BUT I want and need to know what you are looking for in a paleo app. I don’t do apps, I don’t really get them. I downloaded a food porn app once, but I’ve only looked at it once when I was too hungover to get out of bed. True story. So I need to know what people who actually use apps would like to see in a PaleOMG app?

Are you mad because there isn’t a recipe? Don’t you worry, there will be plenty all week!

I am thinking about doing the Paleo diet. I am on a tight budget. How important is using grass fed meats.

As far as the cookbook is concerned, one of my favorite things about your website is all the condiments you whip up (avocado cabbage, avocado roasted red pepper sauce, etc). Would love to see a section just of condiment ideas.

As far as the app, it would be great to just have the recipes and no filler. As much as I love reading your posts, in an app that’s not necessary as people most likely just want to see the recipe. I also don’t think commenting/rating is necessary in the app because that’s what the website is for and you can easily link to the web post from the recipe on the app. I would definitely like to see similar sections to this site and a food list.

Also just to put it out there, if you need any design help I would be more than wiling to help out.

    Congrats!

Please please have a good index! Not just by recipe but by main ingredient. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve gotten frustrated when I can’t find the recipe I was looking for and I don’t remember what it was called or where it was in the cookbook. So much easier when there’s a good index!

Congrats, and I’ll look forward to seeing the book!

In looking through all of the other comments, I would say everything is covered, but to reiterate – pictures, pictures and more pictures! They always make the food seem so great. Conversions are always helpful as well. I’m looking forward to this. I’ve been trying a lot of your recipes and both my wife and I have really enjoyed them! Keep up the good work.

CONGRATULATIONS!! That is awesome, and so great! I can’t wait to purchase your book.

For me it’s all about the shopping lists! The one thing I loved about RR’s books was that at the beginning she gave a “This is what should be in your kitchen on the regular” type list and then with each meal what you would need to buy for that night. It makes life so much easier. The first trip is a big one but after that you stop over buying.

So that’s my request – One big list to complete my Paleo kitchen and then a list of what you would need with each recipe.

BTW, LOVE your posts, and sense of humor, and food!! My girlfriends (even the non-crossfitting ones) love this website!! Thanks for all the ideas and good laughs. Congrats, again!

I thought you were going to announce a pregnancy…darn. But this is pretty cool too..

Kidding, this is awesome! I would so pay for a cookbook. To have it all in one place where I can flip through easily would be amazing.

    Onward and upward for you!!
