That’s my excited face.

Oh sh*t. I can’t even hold it in. Word vomit is about to happen. I’M WRITING MY FIRST COOKBOOK!!

I’m literally tearing up just thinking about this. I’ve wanted this for so long and have gone back and forth about how I would accomplish this goal. But once I was approached by Scribe Publishing, I knew it was the right fit. Not only is the Publisher a CrossFitter as well, but she’s a paleo-er who gets my sense of humor and isn’t afraid of what I have to say. She’s so awesome.

I hadn’t thought about a writing a cookbook since my recipes are free over the internet, until readers began to ask for one. Which was very cool. It’s amazing people would actually want to purchase something when they can get it all free online. So really, I’m writing this cookbook for all of you who have supported me and wanted to show that support by purchasing a cookbook. So this cookbook will feature my favorite PaleOMG recipes along with many new recipes you won’t be able to find on the blog. Already have some good stuff for you!!

So what I want to know is, what are YOU looking for in a paleo cookbook? What is helpful to you and what would make your life easier in a paleo cookbook? Please leave your comments below and give your ideas because I’m making this cookbook for YOU all!

ANNNNNNND, omg, yes there is more. I’m now in the first steps of creating a PaleOMG app. Let’s be real here, obviously I am not the person doing it, I know nothing about anything…except sweets, but my good friend Peter who also put my website together for me, is doing the job. He’s amazing and spectacular so I’m trusting him to create something wonderful. BUT I want and need to know what you are looking for in a paleo app. I don’t do apps, I don’t really get them. I downloaded a food porn app once, but I’ve only looked at it once when I was too hungover to get out of bed. True story. So I need to know what people who actually use apps would like to see in a PaleOMG app?

Are you mad because there isn’t a recipe? Don’t you worry, there will be plenty all week!

This is fantastic, not only for you, but for the entire WOOOOORLD!!! Obviously, you have a gazillion blog followers that adore your blog, so I would say to just keep being you when you’re writing your cookbook. You already keep the instructions simple and to the point, so that’s awesome. Maybe do a fun story at the beginning of each chapter? If you have chapters?? It’s going to be pretty bada$$ and I’m excited and I can’t wait to pass it out as party favors!

I’m also a newbie, your site has made life so much fun! I’ll be ordering as soon as you put the word out.

I agree with practically all of the other suggestions….you can’t go wrong with this project!

I read this after this week’s post announcing the release date for April… Oops… Well, CONGRATS!!!!!!
I am sort of new to your website but have navigated through dozens of recipes, made the pistacchio pesto chicken pasta last night and the bf and I coulnd’t have enough, he appreciates paleo recipes, we are all about Crossfit and Paelo, well, I am easing back into it after a short relapse.. haha.

Cook book- Put your humor and twist into it. I would love to see more recipes for dessert, my sweet tooth kills me every time, throw in brand names you like to use and why, makes it easier to find ingredients when grocery shopping. Add pre and post workout meals and snacks! I’m big on snacks!! A list of things you should eat before a big competition or race (I love doing triathlons).

App- make it free, I hate paying apps (don’t think I have ever bought one). Make it simple, maybe combine wods with dishes. I would LOVE if it automatically made a shopping list when you click on a recipe you’d like to follow. Sharing photos is always fun.

FOOD LUCK!! .. I meant GOOD LUCK!! 🙂 Looking forward to your book, it;s going to be amazing!!

Maybe add alternatives for “Paleo purists” when your recipes are not the strictest. I am not a strict Paleontologist, but I hang out with some and some of them are such novice cooks that if they see an ingredient they wouldn’t choose to use, they don’t know how to substitute. I am about to do the Lurong Challenge, so I made some of your waffles this a.m. But used agave and a little maple flavoring instead of maple syrup. Haha, I then proceeded to slather them with syrup because the challenge doesn’t start until Monday! Once the challenge starts, I will warm up frozen mixed berries until hot and syrupy and eat those on top of the waffles.

Congrats! I am really excited for your cookbook. My wife and I have been living off your recipes since she found your site and we would love to buy a cookbook from you.

I think your site could just be copied into a book and would be great but here are some of my suggestions. Keep ingredient lists simple for most recipes (your site already does this). I like some room on the pages to take my own notes. It would be nice to have some substitution options for some recipes like changing a pork recipe to chicken or changing up the spices. A good index is handy. Suggested side dishes. And I hope you (and the publisher) let your personality show the same way it does on your site. At least 1 or 2 instruction steps on your recipes always have me laughing out loud. We cant wait to get your book, good luck.

Instead of you/food on the cover, can we have Serg in his 4th of July outfit on the front?

      AGREED!

I’m going out and buying this right now!!! oh wait i have to wait. shit. anyways juli you got this. its going to be awesome. lets one thing i like is a meal plan lets say for a week that makes sense like one type of veggies used for the same thing or a recipe made from leftovers of the day before. but dude whatver you create, I will buy.
