That’s my excited face.

Oh sh*t. I can’t even hold it in. Word vomit is about to happen. I’M WRITING MY FIRST COOKBOOK!!

I’m literally tearing up just thinking about this. I’ve wanted this for so long and have gone back and forth about how I would accomplish this goal. But once I was approached by Scribe Publishing, I knew it was the right fit. Not only is the Publisher a CrossFitter as well, but she’s a paleo-er who gets my sense of humor and isn’t afraid of what I have to say. She’s so awesome.

I hadn’t thought about a writing a cookbook since my recipes are free over the internet, until readers began to ask for one. Which was very cool. It’s amazing people would actually want to purchase something when they can get it all free online. So really, I’m writing this cookbook for all of you who have supported me and wanted to show that support by purchasing a cookbook. So this cookbook will feature my favorite PaleOMG recipes along with many new recipes you won’t be able to find on the blog. Already have some good stuff for you!!

So what I want to know is, what are YOU looking for in a paleo cookbook? What is helpful to you and what would make your life easier in a paleo cookbook? Please leave your comments below and give your ideas because I’m making this cookbook for YOU all!

ANNNNNNND, omg, yes there is more. I’m now in the first steps of creating a PaleOMG app. Let’s be real here, obviously I am not the person doing it, I know nothing about anything…except sweets, but my good friend Peter who also put my website together for me, is doing the job. He’s amazing and spectacular so I’m trusting him to create something wonderful. BUT I want and need to know what you are looking for in a paleo app. I don’t do apps, I don’t really get them. I downloaded a food porn app once, but I’ve only looked at it once when I was too hungover to get out of bed. True story. So I need to know what people who actually use apps would like to see in a PaleOMG app?

Are you mad because there isn’t a recipe? Don’t you worry, there will be plenty all week!

Congrats!! As far as what I like to see from a cookbook is a photo for each recipe. I’m sure its a pain but it sure helps me understand what the end product is supposed to look like. Have fun!!

p.s. i think what you should add in a cookbook is maybe like a “paleo for dummies” food list, meaning for newbies what food is okay and what food is not okay.

Wow – that’s big news! Will there be a book signing?!
I’m very similar to other people- slow cooker recipes are the best! Also, I haven’t tried it yet but your recent recipe with the apples and coconut cream in the slow cooker was nice inspiration to try more crock pot desserts. If you can put more of those in there, that’d be awesome! 😀

    Good luck!

Im so excited about your upcoming cookbook! I enjoy the recipes you have been posting and I often share them, so the thought of having them all in one place excites me! Congrats!

In the cook book I would like to see some notes on the recipes of what the benefits are of this food or that food and how it integrates into the Paleo lifestyle. Also other insights on your Paleo lifestyle would be great – especially since you seem to have a good balance of fun while sticking to a program.

Definitely keep your sense of humor!

As far as the App goes – ability to communicate/comment sort of like instagram is always fun.
If there is a way to tie in saving recipes to a meal plan and creating a grocery list…although then you’re getting a lot like Food Lovers Kitchen’s new app.
Ability to pin to pinterest from the app??
    Add suggested WODs in?

Awesome work, I wanted to write a cook book a few years back, but I’m kind of glad I didn’t because my views on food/health have changed so much since then so I need to just keep finding what is right for me and so far a mostly Paleo lifestyle is working for me but there are so many of you doing it right and doing a great job I might just leave the cook booking up to you! 🙂

Congratulations!! On the both!!! That’s so huge!!!! I think pantry/shopping lists are always very helpful either in apps or cookbooks.

Will definitely buy the book–it’s easier to reference a book than a computer screen-and would love to see suggested substitutions for some of the harder-to-find ingredients (such as coconut cream concentrate), nut allergies (eg. substitute for almond meal, etc.), etc.

    1. Jennifer says:

Congratulations! Like many of the commenters, I too would like to see acceptable substitutions for things like canned coconut milk or coconut concentrate. Also, I love lots of pictures in my cookbooks…especially”it should look like this at this point”. I also like someone’s suggestion for recommended pairings with the featured recipe. No matter what you end up doing, I am sure it will be great!!!!

Why don’t you guys just make your own coconut cream concentrate/coconut butter???

1 bag o’ organic coconut FLAKES (not shreds) + 1 food processor +8-10 min = AWESOME!!!!!!!!

I’ve been looking for a paleo cookbook that included calories and other nutritional information so I can adapt recipes to my own weight loss plan.

holy balls yah! 😉 I’d love some 1 pot recipes that combine meat & veg. We do all our cooking for the week on sundays (2 recipes) and then bring in our lunch to work every day. it’s very difficult to find recipes that have both. thanks!
