That’s my excited face.
Oh sh*t. I can’t even hold it in. Word vomit is about to happen. I’M WRITING MY FIRST COOKBOOK!!
I’m literally tearing up just thinking about this. I’ve wanted this for so long and have gone back and forth about how I would accomplish this goal. But once I was approached by Scribe Publishing, I knew it was the right fit. Not only is the Publisher a CrossFitter as well, but she’s a paleo-er who gets my sense of humor and isn’t afraid of what I have to say. She’s so awesome.
I hadn’t thought about a writing a cookbook since my recipes are free over the internet, until readers began to ask for one. Which was very cool. It’s amazing people would actually want to purchase something when they can get it all free online. So really, I’m writing this cookbook for all of you who have supported me and wanted to show that support by purchasing a cookbook. So this cookbook will feature my favorite PaleOMG recipes along with many new recipes you won’t be able to find on the blog. Already have some good stuff for you!!
So what I want to know is, what are YOU looking for in a paleo cookbook? What is helpful to you and what would make your life easier in a paleo cookbook? Please leave your comments below and give your ideas because I’m making this cookbook for YOU all!
ANNNNNNND, omg, yes there is more. I’m now in the first steps of creating a PaleOMG app. Let’s be real here, obviously I am not the person doing it, I know nothing about anything…except sweets, but my good friend Peter who also put my website together for me, is doing the job. He’s amazing and spectacular so I’m trusting him to create something wonderful. BUT I want and need to know what you are looking for in a paleo app. I don’t do apps, I don’t really get them. I downloaded a food porn app once, but I’ve only looked at it once when I was too hungover to get out of bed. True story. So I need to know what people who actually use apps would like to see in a PaleOMG app?
Are you mad because there isn’t a recipe? Don’t you worry, there will be plenty all week!

I can only cook meals with few ingredients for the sake of time and money. i have neither! I really can’t wait to get your book and app.
Congratulations! Reading your blog has helped me to gain confidence in my changing body & love the strong person I have become! I look forward to such fun & inspiring messages in your book!
As a graduate student with a crazy schedule (which can lead to stress eating & deviations from paleo) I would love to see simple recipes & especially snacks that can be easily stored in tupperware & travel in my backpack without much problem. It would also be helpful for me to have how much a serving size would be for 1 person.
Congrats!! I’ll totally buy your cookbook! The way that you write the recipes on the blog is perfect, so don’t let any fancy cookbook-writer people sway you from your own style. You have great stories that draw people in, so stories to go with each recipe would be great. And also some of your tips and tricks, like this is what my typical food day looks like, on a workout day vs a rest day, this is how I handle meal prep for the week so I always have healthy food available, etc. It’ll be great addition to my cookbook shelf!!
Congrats! That freaking rocks!! I am so excited to buy your cookbook when it’s out. When I went paleo a couple months ago I was a little scared and kind of dreading it and wondering how I would survive without bread. A friend who eats sorta-paleo suggested I check out your site, and when I did I felt so much better. Your recipes looked good, your commentary was funny, and I felt re-assured, like I can totally handle this. And I can and I did, love being paleo now.
As for the book, a good index is key. Otherwise, your site in book form, occasional rando rant and all, is something I am looking forward to buying.
Good luck and congrats!!
I forgot to comment on the app! (It’s early, and I’m waiting for the plumber to arrive, what can I say). I’ve tried some of those “is this food item paleo” apps, and they all suck. So one of those that’s easy to use would be great, JB-ified of course. Paleo recipe of the day would be cool too. You open the app, and there’s a new recipe for you. Or just a JB joke or story. Something to brighten my day. Thanks!
Such awesome news!! I can’t wait for both the app and the cookbook. Will definately be getting both!! And I LOVE having nutritional information along with my recipes. Very helpful.
Congrats!!! I didn’t read all of the comments, but having strict paleo dessert recipes (I know thats kinda hard) but more without baking soda or powder. I have a hard time finding those but need some ideas! I love baking!
Congratulations! That is AWESOME! I can’t wait to buy your cookbook…and a copy for each member of my extended family. They think I’m crazy eating this way, but after they try all the yummy food I’ve been making from your recipes, they’ll more than understand. 🙂 Thank you for doing this! 🙂
The worst thing about Paleo is the amount of prep. I have a 6 month old and I simply can’t spend a half hour dicing veggies before I even start cooking. So maybe some shortcuts on longer/more involved recipes would be good!
fact: when i look for paleo recipes i never read the opening blog but i read yours because you’re hysterical. congrats cant wait to get your cookbook!
