That’s my excited face.
Oh sh*t. I can’t even hold it in. Word vomit is about to happen. I’M WRITING MY FIRST COOKBOOK!!
I’m literally tearing up just thinking about this. I’ve wanted this for so long and have gone back and forth about how I would accomplish this goal. But once I was approached by Scribe Publishing, I knew it was the right fit. Not only is the Publisher a CrossFitter as well, but she’s a paleo-er who gets my sense of humor and isn’t afraid of what I have to say. She’s so awesome.
I hadn’t thought about a writing a cookbook since my recipes are free over the internet, until readers began to ask for one. Which was very cool. It’s amazing people would actually want to purchase something when they can get it all free online. So really, I’m writing this cookbook for all of you who have supported me and wanted to show that support by purchasing a cookbook. So this cookbook will feature my favorite PaleOMG recipes along with many new recipes you won’t be able to find on the blog. Already have some good stuff for you!!
So what I want to know is, what are YOU looking for in a paleo cookbook? What is helpful to you and what would make your life easier in a paleo cookbook? Please leave your comments below and give your ideas because I’m making this cookbook for YOU all!
ANNNNNNND, omg, yes there is more. I’m now in the first steps of creating a PaleOMG app. Let’s be real here, obviously I am not the person doing it, I know nothing about anything…except sweets, but my good friend Peter who also put my website together for me, is doing the job. He’s amazing and spectacular so I’m trusting him to create something wonderful. BUT I want and need to know what you are looking for in a paleo app. I don’t do apps, I don’t really get them. I downloaded a food porn app once, but I’ve only looked at it once when I was too hungover to get out of bed. True story. So I need to know what people who actually use apps would like to see in a PaleOMG app?
Are you mad because there isn’t a recipe? Don’t you worry, there will be plenty all week!

Woo! Congrats!! I will be all over that Cookbook and app as soon as they’re out!
I think having some simple go-to recipes are what I like most… Also, for the app, having a search by ingredients and a way to make a shopping list for those ingredients.
Good luck and I can’t wait to buy your stuff! 🙂
Yay! This is great news. I think it would be great if you had meal options for post workout and competition day nutrition since you’ve actually been through those experiences. I can’t wait!
love this idea!
Recipes with common stuff that is easily and readily found. Cooking for a family with a full time job and school full time takes up time. Keep them simple too.
A really good index so it’s easy to find our favorites. This is a real problem with other Paleo cookbooks I already own. I seriously can’t wait Julie…I like that you are not so rigid with your food choices!!
I would love to buy your cookbook! My diet has moved to Paleo mostly because of food sensitivities so a book that suggest alternatives or an app that would allow you to filter out recipes that contain certain ingredients would be fantastic!
Legit, I nearly choked on my eggs, LOVE IT! I think the most important thing is to stay true to your blog – delicious, simple, paleo food. I don’t think you ever would, but no pretentious recipes that make people feel like idiots because they couldn’t cook them. I love casseroles. Sometimes I’ll take your recipes, mash ’em all up, throw ’em in a Pyrex pan, and call them a casserole. I would also prefer more entree recipes than anything else (gasp!). I can’t wait!!! Consider this my “pre-order”
P.S. Nice sombrero. Keepin’ it classy 😉
P.S. I really like meals where the meat and veggies are in one “pot.” I don’t mind using multiple cooking dishes, but I like my meat and veggies to mingle when I eat them. This is probably shear laziness on my part because then I only have to use one Tupperware for my lunch the next day, but you get the idea.
Could you do a “what the heck is Paleo” section? I am super new to this and LOVE your recipes. (made the chicken meatloaf the other night for a dinner party and everyone devoured it). Maybe just a short section in the beginning about why Paleo works for you?
Best of luck!
Great Idea!
Congrats and can’t wait!
I like lots of pictures in cookbooks. One for each recipe, since I can’t usually picture the meal myself.
Comgratulations!! I love your blog and would so buy your cookbook if it was on kindle or ebook. Also I like apps that you can put in ingredients you have and it will search for recipes. Also recipe wise I like different spice combinations that you can mix up, keep, and use in different meals!! I find you guys (Americans) have different flavor combos to us Aussies!!! keep up the good work!!
What about some conversions? Like almond flour to ‘traditional’ sources like white/wheat flour or honey/banana/applesauce (sweetners) to sugar.
I have to say I like this idea! Helping other paleo junkies convert their old or favorite recipes might make paleo more accessable to someone like my Mom who just “can’t give up all that” no worries I’m still working on her!
I love this idea!!
