That’s my excited face.

Oh sh*t. I can’t even hold it in. Word vomit is about to happen. I’M WRITING MY FIRST COOKBOOK!!

I’m literally tearing up just thinking about this. I’ve wanted this for so long and have gone back and forth about how I would accomplish this goal. But once I was approached by Scribe Publishing, I knew it was the right fit. Not only is the Publisher a CrossFitter as well, but she’s a paleo-er who gets my sense of humor and isn’t afraid of what I have to say. She’s so awesome.

I hadn’t thought about a writing a cookbook since my recipes are free over the internet, until readers began to ask for one. Which was very cool. It’s amazing people would actually want to purchase something when they can get it all free online. So really, I’m writing this cookbook for all of you who have supported me and wanted to show that support by purchasing a cookbook. So this cookbook will feature my favorite PaleOMG recipes along with many new recipes you won’t be able to find on the blog. Already have some good stuff for you!!

So what I want to know is, what are YOU looking for in a paleo cookbook? What is helpful to you and what would make your life easier in a paleo cookbook? Please leave your comments below and give your ideas because I’m making this cookbook for YOU all!

ANNNNNNND, omg, yes there is more. I’m now in the first steps of creating a PaleOMG app. Let’s be real here, obviously I am not the person doing it, I know nothing about anything…except sweets, but my good friend Peter who also put my website together for me, is doing the job. He’s amazing and spectacular so I’m trusting him to create something wonderful. BUT I want and need to know what you are looking for in a paleo app. I don’t do apps, I don’t really get them. I downloaded a food porn app once, but I’ve only looked at it once when I was too hungover to get out of bed. True story. So I need to know what people who actually use apps would like to see in a PaleOMG app?

Are you mad because there isn’t a recipe? Don’t you worry, there will be plenty all week!

    Great news Julia!!!!

I would soo be happy to pay for a hard copy of a book from you coz then I can laugh AND cook at the same time.

What do I want in a cookbook? Ummm – your recipes.

I’ll get back to you on that one.

Congratulations! Myself and others can get rid of our 3-ring binders and/or folders of printed recipes and look more official. 😉 Any chance you will be including a 30 day plan in the book??? Those sure help us knuckle draggers.
Once again, congrats and thank you so much for doing this!

Most paleo cookbooks focus on breakfast, and then poultry, beef, pork and seafood dishes and throw in a couple of desserts. I need some good ideas for snacks and appetizers (more creative than the standard nuts, jerky, hard boiled egg or piece of fruit). Snacks and appetizers is where I really struggle and it would be awesome if you could devote a section of your cookbook to that. Looking forward to it!

Pam, yes!! I AGREE. SNACKS and appies! I can’t wait, Juli. I will buy the sh*t out of your cookbook and give it as gifts!

WOOHOO! I’ve loved your blog since I was turned on to (or is it “by”) paleo. 😉 Maybe it was your dancing, not sure. Your recipes are easy to follow and understand, so you’re on the right track already. Your personality is a huge part of why people love your site, so your book should show that off. Perhaps you could show off your personality (and dancing skillzzzz) by adding a pic at the bottom corner of you dancing and make it a flip-book! Genius, I know.

flip book in the corner would be funny…that’s awesome

Congrats!! I’ve been Paleo for about a year now and every week when I meal plan I come to your site! I think I’ve made just about everything and its all been amazing!! I will definitely buy a hardcopy because reading a recipe off of my Droid is dumb and my eyes hurt afterwards (no internet)

As for in the book I love the “dancing flipbook” someone mentioned. That would be hysterical.
I need help with side dishes or what to pair entrees with. And snack ideas! I’m horrible with taking portable food with me.
Like I said earlier that I meal plan from your site…so maybe a meal plan already included would be awesome.
Most of all, Juli…don’t lose YOU! I am constantly inspired by your daily struggles and victories! And the fact you’re flippin hilarious!
So excited for you in this new season!

First off, congrats!!! What an exciting time for you. I really dislike cooking, alright, I hate to cook. So what I’d like to see in a cookbook is really simple, easy to make and good paleo food. If you can limit the # of ingredients to around 5 per recipe, that would be awesome. Sounds like this would be a 2nd cookbook. Paleo Cooking – Made Easy

I am truly happy for you and especially for me haha. I have enjoyed your recipes and find your posts to be the shiznit!! If i could select ingredients i have on location and basically have the app search a recipe and say eat this punk! I would totally appreciate that 🙂 Also possibly the app can include the calorie count for those who wish to stay in the zone. Thanks

I am so very happy for you! And I’ll be one of the first in line when your cookbook comes out!

I came to Paleo through my allergiest – and let me tell you, Paleo saved my sanity! My allergy diet is super, super restrictive….and no fun at all. Paleo is considerably less so, and so while I still have to watch some things I’ve finally relaxed and learned to have fun with food again. Your blog was one of the first I found, and your recipes have been a revelation! I’ve had so much fun reading your posts, and can’t wait to see how you translate your style into a cookbook!
