I know you use vivant skin care and I’ve been looking into it too. How did you decide which products to get from them? Did your esthetician help you with that decision? There’s just so many products to choose from from them.

    1. juli says:

my esthetician helped me choose my items, but I think they have a really responsive company so maybe try contacting Vivant directly to give them details about your skin and ask for a game plan with their products!

Thanks for sharing about your experience! Also, thanks for your recommendation on The Road Les Traveled–I’ve been totally binging on that blog! For future topics, I was wondering–how do you keep your kitchen clean? Do you follow a schedule or have some other strategy for cleaning? I cook almost daily, and my kitchen looks like a war zone–after cooking and doing the dishes, I just don’t have any motivation left to clean!

    1. juli says:

i hired a cleaner to come in every 2 weeks to deep clean and that definitely helps for upkeep. but i don’t do anything special. i try to clean along the way but that rarely happens so i definitely always have a mess at the end and have to take a break between my meal and actually cleaning before i have to energy to clean all that bullshit haha!

How did you play around with your diet to figure out what works best for your body? I’m gaining weight and getting bigger despite a rigorous workout schedule and eating less pastas and rice (but plenty of sweet potatoes, tortilla wraps, etc). I think part of it is stress and anxiety from work (changes going on and they aren’t good for my mental and emotional health) and maybe too little sleep (thanks work anxiety dreams).

Anyways, need a change and trying to figure out how to start assessing what diet works best for me. Advice?

    1. juli says:

i just stay away from all gluten and eat clean foods, meaning mostly meats, veggies, and healthy fats. i try to not overdo it on gluten free items or dairy. that’s what has worked for me! trial and error. you try something and it doesn’t feel right so you remove it and see how you feel. this is an every evolving process, for sure, because the body is always changing! i’m not a doctor and i’ve never met you so i can’t recommend anything in particular other than clean food, no gluten, and limit sugar and alcohol

With regard to yawning during your podcasts – you are speaking non-stop for an hour when you record – I’m guessing your body isn’t getting the oxygen it needs, therefore the yawns begin to get some more oxygen in. You could try some deep breathing exercises to oxygenate before you start recording. Just a thought! I enjoy your podcasts with or without yawns.

    1. juli says:

it definitely has to be that. i need to break the podcast up and breathe lol!

    2. Katie says:

I was going to say the same thing, when you talk you don’t breath the same, not as deeply. So when a person talks a lot they don’t get as much oxygen, and yawning is the bodies way of getting more oxygen. So, morale of the story. Your probably fine, and if it bother you consciously take deeper breather at various points during your podcast. From a weekly listener though, if you have to yawn do you who cares.

Been wondering about those perfect boobs of yours!! Odd comment.. But… been super interested in getting boobs myself for a while now, so thank you for sharing your experience! Your transparency is totally appreciated. Also- didn’t know there’s a 50/50 chance for breastfeeding! Good to know. Love everything you do 🙂

  6. Elizabeth says:

Loved this episode! I had breast implants 13 years ago…totally no regrets. I was much older than you were but over all a similar experience. Would do it again in a heart beat. Recovery was a total bitch but results were well worth it. I’ve never had anything else done or wanted to. I’ve always been really open about it…there is always a big hush-hush about cosmetic surgery, which just doesn’t make sense. I totally believe in taking care of yourself, putting the best foods in your body and working out. But there is no shame in getting a little help with something that you can’t change. Thanks for your honesty!

  7. Erin says:

Hey Juli! Thanks for sharing your experience 🙂 I’ve been considering getting my nose done for quite awhile, but I’m really nervous about the anesthesia… Were you nervous about that prior to doing the procedure? This is the one thing that’s been holding me back. Thanks!

    1. juli says:

i honestly wasn’t nervous at all, i was just excited for the new chapter ahead!

  8. Luisa says:

Thank you for sharing! I think that is really important to talk about those things. There is still stigma around it and I still remember that when I got my breast implants people would shame me for it… Even more so when they learned that I had them done abroad. I’m from the UK and I couldn’t afford to get them done here because the prices are insane here. They all told me that I was being crazy by going there. But I had good review for Forme Clinic from my friend who went there even before me and it was a friend I knew I could trust. So…anyway. Thank you again for sharing. It’s really important.

  9. Katie Grinnell says:

Hi Juli, I feel like such a creeper commenting on this old blog..but just wondering if will share what size in CCs your implants are? Always thought they look great and getting mine done soon. Thank you.
