Helloooooo, from Kansas City!! I’m here for a hot minute, leaving already tonight. Which sucks because getting here was a pain in the ass. Yesterday, we woke up to about 6 or 7 inches of completely unplowed snow. It’s odd that we even have weather men or women on the news because they literally never know what’s going on. Last time it snowed, they said it was going to be the blizzard of the century. Then we got 2 inches that melted in a day. And this time, they said it might snow. And BOOM, we are driving on the highway, finding out that most of the highways are closed down and to stay indoors. Very happy to have an SUV at this point and not a civic. My civic would have never made it.

But on we went, hoping our flight wouldn’t be cancelled. And surprisingly, it wasn’t. So we paid extra to carry on our bag and not wait in the crazy checked bag lines (Frontier airlines is literally THE WORST airlines. Ever.) and even got to our gate in time, for it then to be changed to an hour late boarding. Cool, whatever. We get on the flight…then sit for 2 hours on the runway to be sprayed down to remove the ice then use the ONE runway open in the entire airport. Luckily, I brought a book with me or I would have gone insane in Frontier’s paper thin seats. I’m reading the Maze Runner, and I’m seriously obsessed.

Anywho, we finally made it to KC hours later, grabbed a rental car, visited family and then walked around the Plaza. Why has no one told me how adorable this area is? There are Christmas lights sparkling everywhere and all sorts of shopping and restaurants to try! In love. I even stopped at the Barnes & Noble in the Plaza and signed FIVE copies of Juli Bauer’s Paleo Cookbook. So if you’re still looking for the perfect gift and you live in the area, a signed book would be awesome for that special person in your life!!

We leave tonight already, so we will be grabbing some brunch, wandering around and visiting some family once more. Honestly, I wish I could stay here. I don’t want to go home to snow. It makes my toes cold. Oh dude, get this. In a newsletter I sent out a couple weeks ago, I wrote that Colorado has sucked lately and keeps snowing. A person wrote back to my newsletter telling me to stop complaining and to leave Colorado. B*tch, I’m a native, I can complain all I want. I’ve been swimming in snow since my damn birth. But seriously, who writes that? Does no one understand jokes anymore? Everyone is so damn sensitive nowadays. Hey random internet person, knock it off. Grow up. Or drink one of these. That would definitely help.

I totally intended to run down to the Plaza yesterday to pick up one last gift, but instead I spent all morning on the phone reporting credit card fraud. Dern it! Missed a brush with greatness. Oh well. I AM going to make it down there today and maybe I’ll need to swing by B&N!
