OMG I’m excited. No, not because I am making caramel bars today, but because we got something really cool this week. You ready? You excited?

MEN’S PALEOMG SHIRTS ARE HERE! Boom.

So happy to have some men actually repping my shirts! That’s crazy! These men shirts are great. They are American Apparel 50/50 and say PaleOMG in yellow. Straight up yellow people! That’s the color of happiness if you didn’t know! And happy PaleOMG clothed people = healthy people. It’s science. I’ve done the research. Which has included eating far too many dates while wearing a PaleOMG shirt and being judged by paleo purists. Being judged sucks.

Check out some of the ladies who have been rocking the women’s tanks and tshirts at their gyms! Badass women all around the world! So cool!

Ashley from Alaska reppin her tank in Alaska during wod 12.3!
Robin getting some of her first unassisted pull ups in her tank at CrossFit 816!
Michelle kicking butt in wod 12.2!
Ann still looking amazing in her T-shirt after wod 12.2 at her gym in Baltimore!
Tracy killing it in wod 12.2 at CF Roots in Boulder, CO! She competed in the Open last year while she was pregnant!!
My cousin Michelle looking daaamn good in her fancy pants in Colorado Springs! I like to think I’m the one who made her try CrossFit 😉

Holy balls. If that ain’t inspiring right there, I don’t know what is. All amazing women, all taking care of their bodies, and all being incredibly supportive of me. So.Freaking.Cool. Thank you guys for your support and for sending me your pictures!!

So what about you men out there? Are you manly enough to sport the PaleOMG men’s shirt like my friend here? He looks wicked good in it! I know you will too! Click here to purchase yours today!! And email me your pics of yourself in your PaleOMG shirt! I don’t care if you’re eating a bowl of ice cream covered in oreo cookies while sporting the shirt, I still want to see how awesome you look in it!

Let’s talk about food.

  • Yield: 4 1x

Ingredients

Scale

For the burgers

  • 1lb ground turkey
  • 1/4 red onion, minced
  • 1/4 red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 poblano pepper, diced
  • 1/2 red bell pepper, diced
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground red pepper
  • salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon fat (I used bacon fat)

For the slaw

  • 1 small head of cabbage or bag of cabbage, chopped
  • 2 avocados
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon lime juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper
  • salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

First make your burgers

  1. Add all your ingredients for your burgers in a large bowl.
  2. Shape small burger patties.
  3. Heat up a large skillet under medium heat with a bit of fat in it (I used bacon fat) and add your sliders. Flip after about 3-5 minutes or when you see the sides of your sliders begin to turn a white color (meaning they are cooking through).

Now make your slaw

  1. Pull out your handy dandy food processor, add all your ingredients for the slaw other than the cabbage and pulse until smooth.
  2. Pour your avocado “mayo” on the cabbage and mix. Top off with a bit of salt and pepper.
  3. Place your cabbage on a plate and top off with your sliders!
  4. Consume!

This was a great meal. I think the slaw will be good on the side of Mexican food sometime

  2. Leann says:

Literally my favorite meal that I’ve made since switching to paleo.

  3. April says:

Just made the sliders for the 2nd time. Substituted garam masala, b/c I didn’t have cumin, and ate them with guacamole with portobello caps as bun…yummers!! THANK YOU!

  4. Erin says:

Super yum! I just had this for lunch, made it last night (along with a few of your other recipes, all of which came out fantastic!). The avo does get a little ugly looking the next day but it tastes just fine. I made them using 15% fat ground turkey. I am pretty sure the lean woulda been not so yummy.

Spicy creamy deliciousness! You are a hilarious food genius! We haven’t enjoyed food like that in a long time. We have enjoyed every recipe we have tried from your web site. Thanks for sharing!

UM, I am late to the game apparently, but where did your cousin get those sweet tie dyed pants!?!?!?!

  7. jess g says:

Yum! I modified the slaw by shredding half a cabbage, a large carrot, red onion, and jalapeno pepper. Even my toddler liked this meal, so, thanks!

  8. Anne-Marie says:

This looks amazing! Do you have any idea if the avocado slaw will keep in the refrigerator for a few days, or does it turn brown?

  9. Patrick says:

Made these Sunday night. Awesome!!!. Made a double batch and eating them throughout the week.

Made this for my non-paleo husband and I and we both loved them! Had plenty of leftover so the next night made a sort of deconstructed tex mex meatloaf sandwich: Cauliflower puree on the bottom topped by a turkey patty, topped with slaw, topped with crumbled bacon. YUMMMM. Thank you for this recipe!
