It may not be the first day of spring quite yet, but I’m getting some major spring cleaning vibes already. I cleaned out my closet, I started to reorganize my office, then I put my efforts towards our room. There was absolutely nothing wrong with our room in the first place, but I wasn’t feeling excited or inspired by it. And that’s pretty lame when you spend 1/2 of your life in bed. I want to walk in our room every day and smile, and our grey and white comforter just wasn’t doing it for me anymore.

Whenever I look online for decor inspiration, I’m always automatically drawn to the bedroom looks that are filled with lots of pillows, white sheets and white comforters. But something I absolutely don’t understand is – HOW DO THESE PEOPLE KEEP THEIR SHEETS WHITE?!?! I don’t understand it. I try to get a spray tan every month or so and if any sort of spray tan hits those sheets…they’re f*cked forever. No amount of bleach changes that. So then I’m stuck with these dingy, dirty looking bed sheets. And well, that’s definitely not inspiring when you walk into your room. When I started looking for a new bedroom look, I started with darker sheets. As much as I was wanted white sheets and was drawn to them every time I started shopping online, I stayed away and instead found some medium dark grey sheets. I also placed 2 orders to switch between, that way the bed is never not made and the sheets can last a little longer!
Then I found the perfect duvet cover. Since spring has almost sprung this season, I decided to go bright! I want my eyes to light up when I walk in our room, so I found a comforter with the grey and white colors that I love, but mostly covered in yellows, oranges and corals. My husband wasn’t sure about the bright colors, but once I put it on our bed, he finally understood my vision!

And to put the new bedroom look together, I found some new bed side tables and lighting. Since I love the color white in the bedroom, I pulled that through other pieces in our bedroom instead of our sheets and duvet covers. I ordered white bed side tables then found some white table lamps to brighten up the room. This tall globe table lamp is super affordable and matches this adorable shorter globe version! I love the look of having matching lamps but not completely identical!
Liven Up Your Lighting
And to finish our spring bedroom look, I added all sorts of knick knacks on our bed side tables and dressers. I love having real flowers around the house, but they never last…so what’s the point? Instead, I decorated with all sorts of fake plants and a few delicate fake flowers that I picked up at Hobby Lobby. Errrrmerrrgerd…I love that place. Then I added a few cute objects, candles and mirrors around the room to help bounce light in every direction!

Redecorating our room was so simple and it has completely changed my mood! Since I work from home, I’m in our bedroom multiple times per day and now every time I walk in, I’m instantly in a better mood! And before I redecorated, I never made our bed…but now I’m making it every day because I’m excited to see it looking put together! The colors have me excited for spring and summer and even more inspired to redecorate and reorganize other parts of our home! Next up – our pantry!

GORGEOUS! I’m really loving the touches of gold against the wood features, it just really brings the room together and gives it a lovely and ‘earthy’ feel!
Where is your jewlery box from?
nordstrom rack! i haven’t been able to find it since it’s kind of old or i would have linked it!
Seems like a good idea for my bedroom. Now my bedroom is in purple. This creates a very sleepy atmosphere.
