Last week was a bit bananas. Monday through Wednesday was spent in Boulder, then I went Thursday through Sunday in Austin. So I ate out for almost every single meal. I have to say…Boulder was way more impressive in the food department and that was super surprising. I’ve been to Austin probably 6 times now and every time I go, the food is amazing. This time, I was only impressed by ONE meal. One! But that was probably a blessing in disguise so I didn’t overeat constantly while traveling. That’s definitely always a struggle when food tastes so damn awesome.

Since I was traveling so much, I made sure to drop in at a couple gyms or stay active while walking and hiking. Whenever I’m traveling for work, I walk A LOT because I’m usually by myself and I like seeing the town and all the shops that you would most likely miss in a car. And a couple miles always seems doable when it’s nice outside. But if I’m traveling with a group who would say WTFFFFF when I made them walk two miles, I just stick to a car instead. So that meant dropping in at a couple gyms in Austin. I first stopped in at Crush Fitness Class because I’ve been to that gym a few times before during other Austin trips and I know I’ll always get a great workout in. But then a friend told me about Align studio which has boxing, yoga, barre and pilates. We dropped in for a boxing class and I’m SO EFFING GLAD WE DID.

Honestly, this class was probably one of the most fun and most effective workouts I’ve ever done! I was absolutely soaked during the workout, the instructor knew what she was doing and was incredibly inspiring, and I went from breathing hard to smiling over and over. It was so damn fun. I’m so bummed I didn’t have more time in Austin because I would have gone back multiple times. It was such an amazing workout. It makes me super bummed that I don’t know of any workouts/gym like that one in Denver.

This is proof that trying different gyms and workouts outside your comfort zone, especially while traveling, can be so eyeopening. I’m SO glad I dropped in at this amazing gym and it has me inspired to try new workouts! Don’t let travel hinder your fitness goals! Get after it no matter where you are!

LOL I do that to my husband all the time “lets just walk” lol can’t make everyone walk 45 minutes for food I guess! It’s such a great way to see the sites though!
