Helloooooo out there!! Top of the mornin’ to ya! It’s bright and early over here in the PaleOMG workspace/household because today on this lovely Memorial Day, I am shooting cooking videos all day! Seven to be exact! I have two drinks, two breakfasts, a dip, a chicken dish and ice cream. It’s gonna be a good day, especially once it’s over since the day before and the day of are pretty damn exhausting. Fingers crossed all these go well and they will be up the blog soon!
But in the meantime, let’s talk about what pretty few people want to talk about on a holiday – fitness and overall health. Isn’t that the worst when someone comes at you with some bullsh*t about being good on holidays and staying away from all the sugary drinks and naughty treats? It’s the worst. But that’s what I’m going to do.
So I’ll just put it all out there. Holidays usually bring people together around lots of food, alcohol and more food. And it’s easy to put our goals on hold when there is a giant bowl of cheese dip in front of us or a cocktail calling our name. I see it constantly with people at the gym or in my circle of friends. But at the end of the day, you’re the only person who gets to decide how you want to feel the next day. You’re the one who gets to set yourself up for success if you choose to. You get to decide what you consumer today and you get to decide how you feel tomorrow. It’s always easier said than done, but you truly do have the willpower to make the best decisions today so you can feel your best tomorrow.
That being said, you may not give a sh*t what you eat today and that’s totally cool! Whatever is going to make you feel your best today and tomorrow and the next day…DO IT! Life is all about choices and choose the best path for you, so figure out what that path looks like, pave it the way you see fit, and crush life along the way. For me, the path means staying away from alcohol for a bit and trying to put down the chocolate at night. All because I want to feel my best as often as possible! What does your path look like?
