Sunday – Rest day! Meaning cook day. Lots of recipes done while in Pittsburgh!
Monday – Full work day! 5 or 6 recipes made out in Pittsburgh before being completely pooped after making 37 recipes in a little over a week!
Tuesday – Last Tuesday was the day I left Pittsburgh and since my flight wasn’t until 4pm, I decided to get in a workout in the morning before I left!
3 rounds for time:
20 burpees
30 alternating front rack kettlebell lunges
30 kettlebell swings
Wednesday – Back home! Since it’s always hard getting back into the swing of things at the gym, I went to a 9am workout to get the day going right away!
EMOM For 12: 1 x Hang Squat Snatch, adding. 1st set should be at 65%. – I got to 125#
15 min AMRAP Of:
9 Power Snatch (135/95) – I used 75#
12 Lateral Burpees Over Bar
15 Toes To Bar
40 Double Unders
I got 3 + 13
Thursday – It is absolutely how crazy my squat has become with less lifting. 95# felt like 155#. Sometimes that kind of frustrates me, but I’m just glad to be working out with some kind of weight!
Push Jerk into Split Jerk. 10 mins to find heavy combo. – I got to 120#
Front Squats: 3 x 10 all sets @ 70%. From floor. (9 mins) – I did all of mine at 95#
7 min AMRAP LADDER OF: (3,6,9,12…)
Push Jerks (135/95) – I used 85#
Chest 2 Bar Pull Ups
I got 12 + 18
Friday – This was my favorite workout of the week! I never know if I’m going to be able to do muscle ups anymore since I rarely do them, so it’s always exciting when I still can!
Power Cleans: 1.1.1. – 10 mins to find a heavy triple. Quick Reset. – I got to 145#
3 x Max Effort Sets Of: Muscle Ups / Bar Muscle Ups (sub ring push ups / deficit push ups) 90 sec rest between sets. ( 7 mins) –I did 1 muscle up each time then practiced butterfly pull ups
5 Rounds For Time Of: (12 min cap)
12 Deadlifts (155/105) – I used 95#
9 Hang Power Cleans (155/105) – I used 95#
6 Strict HSPU / 3 Wall Walks – I did Strict to 1 ab mat
I finished in 7:55
Saturday – Rest day! I rearranged my closet. Best.Feeling.Ever!!

My friend and I tried out a crossfit gym on Saturday and we diffently think its something theat we want to do. Any advice for someone getting ready to start?
a good crossfit gym should have an elements or beginners course for you and your friend to take, that way you can learn all the movements and get comfortable with the crossfit set up
I definitely recommend taking a foundations course! During a regular class the trainer will not always have enough time to teach you the proper mechanics for the movement and having good form is so important!! It is also a great way to learn how to scale certain movements to your ability, which is a must for a new crossfitter! Not to mention you will be much more confident about yourself 🙂
I have wanted to try crossfit, my only concern is that I have a partially torn MCL (refusing surgery is dumb I know)…with all the squats and stuff I am not sure if my knee would even hold up…do most crossfit gyms have the ability to accommodate injuries like that?

it totally depends on the gym, but i would say most accommodate pretty well!

I love these posts! I am not a “crossfitter” but I like Olympic lifting and to add in met cons every couple days for more of a high intensity workout. Quick question from your Tuesday workout, is it 30 lunges per leg or 30 total?

HI! I have been eating paleo for 3 months now and feel amazing!!! I love your recipes, they are creative and always taste delicious!!! I have been debating on starting crossfit or not. We have a great gym here in Cyprus, and it seems like such a great work out, but I worry about getting to muscular. I am 5’4 135lbs, I gain muscle really easily and am not petite in anyway!! Am I worrying for nothing? Does it all come down to the weight you use?
it honestly all comes down to your genetics and what you think is bigger. some women put on a ton of muscle, some don’t. i think it’s worth trying out and seeing if you like it! i stick with lighter weights because I’ve experienced what heavier weights does to my body but that’s not the case for everyone
What sneakers do you recommend for Crossfit? I can’t afford to buy different ones for lifting vs. WODs so I need one that has stability but also easy to do box jumps, short runs in. Whats your favorite?
