Happy Monday!!! I’m chatting to you through the inter webs while I’m deep in the Caribbean right now. I can’t wait to tell you guys all about this trip!
But let’s start with some workouts for now! If you’ve been reading my Monday posts for a couple months now, I’ve been trying all kinds of different stuff. I went from competing in CrossFit, to doing CrossFit only 5 days per week, then back in December I decided I wanted to grow my glutes more so I started adding in extra workouts. The problem was, it was too much work and I started seeing some signs of adrenal fatigue. I started gaining weight, I wasn’t sleeping as well, my diet was off. Plus I’ve been dealing with some neck and back issues that have crept on because of my competition days.
SO I decided to stop doing CrossFit as much and cut back on the glute workouts, all while trying new workouts that wouldn’t be quite as demanding as CrossFit can be. I’d love a bigger bum but I’m not looking for bigger legs. And it’s hard to balance that when you don’t have a trainer to walk you through it all. So for now, I’m mixing it up with Class Pass and trying different gyms around town to find a new rhythm. For me, I got a little too obsessed about growing my glutes and that’s not always a good road for me. Obsessions just lead to poor behaviors and choices so I have to stay away from it. Instead, I’m just doing workouts I enjoy that make me feel fit, challenged, and comfortable in my clothes.
Last week, I went to a few different kinds of classes. Not only did I get 2 CrossFit workouts in, but I also tried out a new class that was AMAZING. This gym called transFORM here in Denver offers both megaformer Lagree classes along with versa climber classes as well. If you’ve never heard of a versa climber, just google it and check out the videos. This class is 30 minutes long and you leave completely exhausted, drenched in sweat and excited to try it again. The class is dark with lights throughout like you’re in a Vegas club and they blast the best music EVER. The music is seriously the only thing that kept me going.
Something I figured out (once again) in the past few months of different workouts is that I feel my best when I don’t obsess. Sure, I’d love to have a better bum or more sculpted legs, but I also like to have freedom from those obsessions. So instead of worrying, obsessing and caring so damn much, I’m going to concentrate on challenging myself in new workouts and feeling accomplished every day because of that. It took me a couple months to figure that out, but I feel like I’m finally back on the right track!

What I Ate in a Day:
After waking up, I started my day off how I always do – with coffee. I made a hot cup of coffee with a tablespoon or so of heavy cream, some liquid stevia and a heaping tablespoon of collagen.
For breakfast, I dressed arugula in olive oil, lemon juice and S&P. Then I cooked up 1/2 sweet plantain in ghee along with a Teton Waters jalapeño brat.
Later on in the morning, I had an auburn latte at Corvus Coffee. It has cashew milk, maple syrup and other delicious stuff in it. I didn’t drink quite all of it.
For lunch, I made a wrap with Thrive Market coconut wrap, Kite Hill cream cheese, smoked salmon, and arugula. Then I ate it with Plant Snacks beet chips with Just Be Kitchen cauliflower hummus and some pickles on the side!
For dinner, I had a shared glass of champagne with my girlfriend at Gozo then I ordered the sole with red bell peppers and butternut squash ribbons!
Later on that night, I had 3-4 tablespoons of chocolate hazelnut butter!
