4th of July Fudgesicles

I’m not even sure if that’s how you spell fudgesicles…but I’m too lazy to look it up. True story.

OMG I didn’t even tell you guys about my weekend. That’s some bullsh*t right there, because it was fantastic. I burned the crap out of my boobs being outside constantly, but having a tan makes everything look better right? So I’ll be tanning my bum on a constant basis here on out. Anywho, I got to wakeboard AND go to the pool. Two different water sources in two days. New personal record for me right there. I finally got more comfortable on the wakeboard. I did little baby jumps and only took 2 or 3 face dives. So much fun. I feel like a little kid when I get on the wakeboard, I get so giddy and excited.

I also went mountain biking again last week. Wow, was that sh*t scary this time around. Like, so scary. The first part of the trail should have been called ‘Where Juli Will Die’ trail. I had to stop pretty much every 30 seconds, get off my bike and walk it down a bit, just to get back on it, talk to myself (mostly saying, don’t be a p*ssy Juli), then fall again and proceed on to use many curse words. Thankfully no one else was around. And thankfully no one sees my entire but because it’s cascading with bruises now. I fell way more than the guys I was with even know about. I’m so clumsy…and uncoordinated. Either way, it was fun as hell. I can’t wait to go back again.

So while I was mountain biking, or falling, whatever you may call it, thankfully I was wearing a headband. Or I would have had blistering salt sweat dripping into my eyes. You know how bad that sucks? Real bad. And thankfully I had my new PaleOMG headband on!! YES A NEW HEADBAND!! OMG it’s cute. It’s blue instead of the normal black. They rock. Check out these headbands and start sporting them daily {NO LONGER AVAILABLE}. If you haven’t noticed by my pictures at this point, headbands are my boyfriend. It’s true. I love them.

omg cute

And you know where I’ll be sporting my PaleOMG headband this weekend? Well other than the store, the gym, the bars, and while sleeping…I’ll be wearing it at my first ever All Women’s Lifting Seminar at CrossFit Jai in the Highlands of Denver, CO. There are still a few spots left if you’d like to partake and get your giggle on while getting huge. I’m kidding, we won’t get huge. But we will get better at our lifts and make some new friends! The class is from 12-2 so it is short and sweet and we will all learn a ton from it! And probably grab lunch afterwards. Who doesn’t like girls food time!? Sweat + food = a good Saturday. Check out the link to sign up! And hope to see you there!

Oh, Hi! I’m Juli.

I’m a food hoarder. And a really bad dancer. If you don’t know me well, you will probably not understand my humor. Therefore, I apologize ahead of time. Thanks for listening to my ramblings of my ever-changing life and trusting my kitchen mishaps. Your trust in me is appreciated.

  1. how has no one commented on this yet? probably because they are all clearing room in their freezers, and i am the only tard left drooling on my keyboard. We celebrate Canada day July1st. i get to make them sooner! snap!

  2. I think this will be our next freezer staple. We already keep the coconut popsicles in there at all times. You are amazing, we love your site and I have a meal plan for months of all the recipes I want to try.

    Thank You!!

  3. so how do you like sunbutter? We have to use it for my sons lunches because his preschool is nut free. Such a pain. How come almond butter doesnt come in crunchy? I like my nut butter crunchy.

I’ve also made pops, but my recipe was a little diff and not 100% paleo. Use plain greek yogurt, cocoa, agave or honey, blend, add chips. It’s definitely not sweet but i figured, at least it had protein so it had something going for it. True story. =)

Also wanted to share my other pop recipe with you, because like no one else cares about my recipes. Gather berries of choice, dice the strawberries and anything else that might be too big, put into mold, pour in So Delicious cultured coconut milk (its thick) and voila. i have tried it with almond milk but, almond milk freezes too icy-ey. Of course, superthick smoothies make great pops too. I love popsicles. Ok. I’m done now.

    1. Trader Joe’s Almond Butter totally comes in crunchy or smooth. You could probably make your own crunchy (or turn store bought crunchy by adding in some almonds you’ve pulsed in the food processor) if you don’t have a Trader Joe’s near you.

    2. juli, do you think silicone cupcake holders would work too? also, what about raw milk instead of coconut or not thick enough?

  4. i just wanted to clarify above, that when i say, “Add chips” – that was dark chocolate chips … not the potato variety. (gag)

  5. Sh*t i keep overanalyzing all your past posts but apparently i cannot find out why you gave up nuts… i thought Juli was a huge nut fan!!!! help

  6. Awesome post – freezing cold here in South Africa but Im going to make these anyway!

Yes please talk about your nut issue. I was eating nuts but I swear it felt like it increased my belly fat. Trying to keep my fat % low so Ive given it up for 2 weeks now and I feel awesome. Would love to know your story! Shot!

  7. I want another post where you mention your crush. Except you actually tell us more about him. Hint hint

  8. I don’t like dates. When you put in the recipe can you taste them? Is there a substitution for dates. Thanks

  9. Juli–all I can say–YUM. Cannot wait to test these out!

So…what would be the possibility of getting some PaleOMG armbands? 🙂 I would order a stack!

  10. JUST made something similar to these! Used avo instead of the banana to get those healthy fats in… SO tasty!
    Freaking obsessed with your blog.
Pretty sure I’m in love with you.

  11. Juli!!! Come do a mountain biking clinic with me in Park City in August! It’ll be fun, I promise! 🙂 Seriously, I was scared s#$tless when I took up the sport, but it’s so amazing once you get more comfortable. There really is a clinic in Park City in August, so let me know. Really.

  12. You are my hero 🙂 these look delish. May have to get me one of your headbands too. I wear bands as much as possible! So much easier plus I think I look kinda cute.

  13. Wow these look awesome! Can’t wait to try them. Totally interested in the lifting seminar, but can’t make this weekend. Any idea when the next one will be?

  14. Christine Childs

I made these this weekend and they are so, so good! I also made them without the honey to cut down on sugar and it was still very, very good! My husband loved them.

  15. Just made these and love them. I used silicon muffin cups to mould them, and I’m definitely adding a shot of coffee to kick up the flavour next time.

  16. Is this considered a vegan treat too? My friend said she would only try them if they were vegan, and I couldn’t see anything that wouldn’t be in the ingredients.

    1. The only thing I’d see that would be considered not vegan (and it depends on the person who is vegan’s definition) would be the raw honey. But I think you can sub the honey for like stevia right if you were to do them for a vegan?

  17. I dohbled up on the recipe and made small lollies. My boyfriend and i LOVE them.

We left some of the mixture in the fridge as we ran out of lolly makers and the mixture turned into an awesome chocoloate mousse. Which we ate for pudding.
