If you’re anything like me…you go for days without washing your hair. But who wants to wash and style it every day then do the same thing all over again in just 24 short hours? Not me. Especially when I am just going to work out and get it super sweaty. So whenever my hair is greasy and out of control, I use this method to make it look like I have my sh*t together.

If you have fine or thin hair, this is a great way to get volume and more “poof” to your top knot! And the more you do it, the better you’ll get at it! Play around with it and I hope this helps you on your greasiest of days!

    1. Jackson is a big meatball and he’s so cute and I just want to snuggle him!
    2. Seeing your shirt “in action” and not just in a posed photo makes me want to buy it. It’s adorable!
    3. I would love to see a video tutorial of how you set up some of your shots for recipe photos.
    4. Also, maybe you can make a podcast about motivation and how you stay excited about workouts/the gym.

he’s such a meatball lol!! and i’ll write that down about setting up some food photos! love that idea! and stay tuned on the podcast next week because i’ll be talking about eating healthy while traveling and staying motivated through the holidays!

I can’t wait for that podcast! My favorite podcast topic by far has been about being a blogger. I never knew how people made money from it so I appreciate your transparency. It’s really interesting to learn the behind-the-scenes stuff. It only makes me want to support you more!

Thanks for showing that again! I saw you do the bun briefly on Snapchat and needed the refresher because I’m a bit challenged when it comes to styling my hair.

Also, I just love Jackson. Like so much. I have a white female Frenchie and it’s always interesting to me to see other Frenchies, and their different shapes and sizes. Do you have Frenchie radar too? Anywhere I go, if there’s one around me, I will find it and I will squish it and smooch it and really try my best not to dognap it. I would never really actually dognap anyone’s dog, but the desire to have 2,000 of the little cuties is SO strong!

i always go up to people with bulldogs and tell them i have a frenchie lol! i hate when people don’t care, I’m like WHAT KIND OF BULLDOG PARENT ARE YOU?! i totally want a million frenchies too! i have thought about getting another one for so long but it’s pretty nice to just have one lol

      1. Leah says:

RIGHT?! It should be an unwritten rule that Frenchie parents are all friends!!

We have thought about getting another one too, but I think Willow is more a single kinda gal. She’s not fond of many dogs and is a little possessive…something we haven’t been able to break yet…and she’s almost 5 *huge sigh*. I thought she would love my brother’s English Bulldog, since he’s her people, but that was a huge fail!

I’m sorry I don’t have a more constructive comment or advice for future posts, but I just had to say thank you for this video! I have very fine hair and my top knots always give off more of a six year old going to ballet class vibe than an effortlessly put together “look”, so I am so excited to try your tips!

It has been so fun “getting to know you” by following your blog over the years, but your recent addition of podcasts and vlogs are so endearing and such a nice addition to the paleomg brand.

    You’re just the best, Juli!

    1. juli says:

so glad i could help, gina!! i feel the same way with the child ballet bun lol!!

  6. Emily says:

Thank you so much for doing this! I asked you on instagram, so thank you for following through.

  7. Mallory says:

Hair is almost long enough to do this, thanks for the cute video!

  8. Alexis says:

I am so excited for this, I have been waiting to see how you do your top knot!!! My hair looks horrific on non-wash days and I can’t wait to try this. Quick question: I have always been told that teasing damages your hair, do you notice any breakage when you do it? Thank you!!!

  9. Michelle says:

Yes!!! Been excited for this tutorial! I’ve watched videos about how to make a bun like this look good, but so many youtubers make it seem like magic lol. I knew you’d actually show me how to do it 🙂 Thank you!!
