Cherry season! I plan on making at least 6 meals with cherries since I have a huge bag of them. This will be the first. If you hate cherries, well the joke is obviously on you.
Yep. I knew it. I’m not into country music. Nope. I’ve listened to many, many country songs in my day. And used to actually love it when I had a boyfriend many years ago that listened to it incessantly. But after going to the Jake Owen concert, I can say I’m not into country. I mean, don’t get me wrong, he was great. He’s super entertaining, has a great teeth and a really good looking family. But I felt out of place at the concert. It could have been the teenagers dry humping to country music in their cut off plaid shirts or maybe the smell of cow poop in the midnight Greeley air, but it didn’t suit my fancy. I tried, it didn’t work. We even got to go backstage and drink adult beverages with the band, but I still wasn’t into it. We even had to pay a random guy, who turned out to be a band teacher at the local high school, to take us back to our hotel since there are about 2 taxis in the entire city of Greeley. How do college students get home after parties? I don’t get it.
After that delightful experience in Greeley, we went up north one more night to go to a friends house warming party. They have this gorgeous house, huge backyard AND a yellow lab puppy. So Jackson and her went absolutely insane for each other. Meaning Jackson was humping her face half the time, and she let it happen. When he wasn’t humping, they were absolutely adorable. They both were so exhausted but didn’t want to admit it to the other one. So one would lie down while the other one was walking away but quickly get back up if there wasn’t any movement that moved their way. They played, they fought, they tried to hump. They’re pretty much destined to be together. And Jackson even has another doggy date with a different girl puppy tomorrow. This one is a frenchie too. He’s such a slut.
After playing for probably 5 hours on Saturday night, Jackson did NOTHING on Sunday. Along with me and the boyfriend. Seriously, we didn’t do anything. I’m not one to sleep in very long, I usually get to 8am at the latest and it’s usually when I’m sick, but we both slept in until 11am on Sunday. It.Was.Awesome. Then we proceeded to watch as many episodes as possible of Orange is the New Black. And eat waffles. The one productive thing we did was grocery shop. That was it. We completely wasted our Sunday but man was it worth it. I woke up this morning ready to attack the day.
Speaking of attacking the day, guess what’s coming up soon?? Soon we are going to be heading on another book tour!! We haven’t finalized all of our stops yet, but I do know that I will be heading to Houston, Texas on July 15th at 7pm at Blue Willow Bookshop! Where my Houston people at?? Come visit us, grab a book, and bring some questions you have about paleo, cooking, and Jackson. Jackson’s name always comes up at these events.

Off the charts! My favorite paleo muffin recipe and I have tried a lot. Well done!
Your Morning Glory muffins are my go-to, btw. But I will definitely be making this chocolate cherry ones as often as I can justify it.
I made these today!! Freakin’ tasty! (of course I didn’t have coconut sugar so I had to substitute it with white sugar) I added a few more sliced cherries 🙂 Yum
Enjoying Fourth of July in Florida. Rainy afternoon and I just made these muffins. Amazing
I just made these for my hubby and kids and they are a hit!! We are new to Paleo, so I am working hard to get my family switching over. The only substitution I made was your suggestion of arrowroot flour in place of tapioca since that is what I had.
They are a hit!! My picky 3 year old asked for a second one as she was finishing her last bite and my husband (who so far dislikes any healthy baking) loved it!!
Well done, love your blog, love your new cookbook! Keep your delicious recipies coming please!!!
God bless you Juli! New to Paleo and not knowing my boundaries on what I should and should not eat, then I was recommended to your blog and posts…..oh happy day! I can’t wait to try out some of these nummy yummies you have here. ❤❤
These were absolutely amazing! Dangerously good.. I made some homemade applesauce for them with the peels still on and it turned out fabulous. I ate one and a half today and then unloaded the rest on my family and unsuspecting yoga studio front desk folks. I think that’s my only complaint…they’re *too* good. Moderation is key. I used coconut palm sugar; Hopefully that was okay. I love your recipes and your book (although I’ll admit I’m a bit daunted sometimes being a really new cook). In any case; THANK YOU! =)
I’m looking forward to trying this recipe when I get back to my own kitchen. I bet they’d be great any time of year with dried cherries when fresh aren’t available. Looks oh-so-yum!
I made these in a cookie version for the 3rd of July and they were a HUGE hit! Thanks for the inspiration!!
Yep, once again those of us in Sounthern AZ get skip right over! Nobody loves those of us down here in TUCSON AZ who would love to come see you without having to drive to Phoenix (over 2 hrs for some us)
Well poo…. Hate when my entire comments do post their entirety. Don’t worry folks I was actually praising Juli.
I think she is awesome!!
