“Making banana pancakes, pretend like it’s the weekend.” Did these pancakes remind you of that song? They did for me. I sang that song while I made pancakes all morning. That’s the only part I know in the song, so I sang that over and over. Thankfully I was home along.

Ok, I need to understand something. Does the show ‘Girls’ get better after the first two episodes? Because I’m not really a fan since I’ve seen the first two. They were awkward, like, too awkward. The sex scenes were way too weird for me to really enjoy. And I ain’t no prude when it comes to watching sex via the television. I am one of the many people that have watched every Sex and the City episode and never felt weird. But when it comes to long, drawn-on sex scenes that lack humor and/or have a guy that treats the girl like sh*t, it weirds me out. My roommates and I just sat awkwardly watching these episodes, and we aren’t really uncomfortable people. I force them to see me naked on a regular basis when I refuse to put clothes on. I went too far didn’t I? Yep, yep I did. Anywho, I hope ‘Girls’ gets better or I’ll be way disappointed. I trust other people’s opinions and it seems to not be working for me. I hate trusting other people.

The other night, I watched ‘The Following’ then I had a murder dream. I didn’t murder the person, so I’m cool, but I did watch the murder occur. And this one murder seemed to fill an entire parking garage with blood. Graphic, I know. But how do you think I felt when I woke up, sweating, surprised I hadn’t wet the bed? Horrible, relieved I hadn’t wet myself, but still horrible. I hate murder dreams. Isn’t it interesting that we are never creeped out by the producers who create these frightening murder mystery shows? I think it’s weird. Real weird. Brains shouldn’t function like that. Just sayin’.

This is an absolutely terrible blog post.

I don’t want to talk about sex or murder anymore. I want to talk about something even worse. CrossFit Games Open workout 13.5. Are you serious bro?? ARE YOU SERIOUS? That looks disgusting. Once I saw it, I was in an instant unhappy mood. Mostly likely because I was hungry, but I was still unhappy. Of course it’s thrusters and chest to bar pull ups. OF COURSE IT IS. Way to be original CrossFit HQ. No one was expecting that. I thought it was expect the unexpected? I have been proven wrong.

Ok, enough about unfun stuff. That’s not a word. Let’s talk about fun stuff. Like getting a really good deal on lots of stuff. Instructions

  1. Place banana in a food processor or blender and puree until smooth.
  2. Then crack eggs into food processor and mix together.
  3. Lastly, add in the food processor the coconut flour, vanilla extract, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt.
  4. Puree until smooth.
  5. Now heat up a large skilletor pancake griddle over medium-high heat. Once skillet is hot, pour around 2-3 tablespoons of the mixture into skillet. I made each pancake about 3 inches, and that was perfect for flipping.
  6. Wait until each pancake begins to form bubbles on the surface sprinkle with granola, then flip. If you use your spatula to press under the sides of the pancake, all the way around, it will be easier to flip.
  7. Make all pancakes with the batter.
  8. Top with syrup. Yummo.

So, are we done with the 21 DSD? 🙂 Thank God!

If a show doesn’t grab me by the first episode, I generally don’t waste my time. I haven’t seen Girls yet, but it seems like you either love it or hate it. I gave up on Mad Man for the same reason. Sure, the clothes are fun, but what’s with all the long, dramatic scenes of not muh happening? Anyway, I prefer Archer.

    1. Numy says:

I’ve never heard of “Girls” and from what I’ve seen on this page that’s a good thing. ‘Archer’ is the better choice.

Now, these pancakes? omg, these PANCAKES!?! They are superb! I actually hopped on here to find the Berry Compote rendition (https://paleomg.com/banana-vanilla-bean-pancakes-with-mixed-berry-compote/ ) and had to take a look at these. The pancake batter is (mostly) the same and they are delicious. (The other actually calls for vanilla bean, but I’ve never added it. Too much $$$ 🙁 Maybe one day I will find a reasonably priced organic vanilla bean.)

Try http://www.beanilla.com. I got my beans there 25 beans for $25 and they are the BEST beans ever!

WOW! I need these in my life!

  4. Sarah says:

Girls is amazing. The first couple are definitely awkward, but like everyone else says, I just got hooked and couldn’t stop. Now I love it and all of the characters. Keep watching!

  5. Fallon says:

GIRLS gets better!! I think it’s supposed to be a somewhat awkward show, that’s what I find so appealing. It’s not anyone trying to be anything other than who they really are, life in general is awkward, and Lena Dunham does a great job with the writing and directing… she’s sort of a hero of mine.

  6. (Un)intentional Happenings says:

I have only made it through 3 episodes. I couldn’t agree with your thoughts more. I can’t take it that I watch it with other people in the room and I can’t talk to them for a signification amount of time after. Hate that ugly dude that she hooks up with…where is the self respect?!?

  7. Jessica says:

    Girls never gets better!!!!

  8. Joe says:

Any recommended sub for bananas, since my GF HATES bananas with a passion?

    1. Pen says:

Pumpkin? Sweet potato? I use plantain, which don’t taste like bananas too much…

    2. Javan says:

I subbed 2/3 cup of natural applesauce and they were delicious!!

  9. Lori says:

I too only made it through the first two episodes of Girls before giving up! There is way better TV out there.

  10. Vita says:

Yes yes yes! I only watched three eps of Girls and it was terrible. Everyone around has been talking what a great show that is, but it’s terrible. All the time I watched it, I felt ashamed for the girl, worried or bored and that’s not something I prefer to feel in my free time. So thank god, you feel the same way. That’s a relief 🙂
