I’m officially OBSESSED with this drink. It’s seriously so freaking good! I made it for a special giveaway I’m hosting on instagram right now to help you win some special goodies to make this drink, but I thought I would share the recipe here too, in case you missed it! It’s creamy, refreshing and it’s packed with collagen to help grow those nails, hair, to help with collagen in your skin, and to even help with balancing hormones, inflammation and gut lining. Collagen is the best!
Ok, so I had some reaaaaaal creepy ass dreams last night. A guy in my dream ate his fingers off. That’s not a fun visual. Especially when you’re sleeping. And I’m not sure how this happened since all I watched was The Office last night. Of course, I woke up in a terrible mood and when my husband spilled a glass of water, I pretty much freaked out. Talk about waking up on the wrong side of the bed. I think it’s time for a good ole’ fashioned therapy sesh.
Speaking of therapy, I’m ready for the CF Open to be over. I paid my $20, I’ve tried harder than usual in workouts for 3 weeks straight, and I did my years worth of ring muscle ups. I’m ready for it to be over and to have Friday freedom again. I’ve been spending my Friday nights at the gym for a solid 3-4 hours and as much as I love hanging out with everyone at the gym, I’d rather hang out with them at a restaurant, eating appetizers. That’s more my speed nowadays.
This Friday evening is about to be a little different though. My husband planned a special date night where we are going to our favorite steak house then out to a craft cocktail bar. I’ve been trying to stay away from too much alcohol since I’ve been a little too friendly with sugar lately and my skin is paying for it, but this craft cocktail bar is worth the extra sugar!
Maybe I can get the bartender to make this mint chocolate chip collagen shake and add vodka. That’s not too much to ask, right?!

For example, does this keep you satiated? Or typically a “snack” for you.
Thanks!
no, this is more of a treat for me. i wouldn’t have it daily personally
What is the difference between this brand of collagen peptides and the Vital Proteins one ?
i’m not sure honestly! i use both!
Made this today in honor of St. Patrick’s! It was so yummy and refreshing…even my boyfriend kept taking sips off of my glass. Next time I’ll make more!
Juli, I Iiked the Mint Chocolate Chip Collagen shake. Are the cocoa bibs just for garnish? They really didn’t break down in the blender.
Probably my wimpy blender.
Have you ever combined grass fed whey protein powder to the collagen shakes?
Lastly, thank you so much for doing what you do. Love your recipes, fashion and sass!
thanks for the love jayne! if the cacao nibs didn’t break down, it’s probably the blender because they should blend into super tiny pieces. and i don’t add protein powder to my collagen shakes. that would just be a ton of protein
Hi Juli,
I’ve been blending smoothies with my Vitamix for years but never heard of “collagen peptides”. Sounds very intriguing! I’m going to give it a shot.
BTW, I also love the pic of your Frenchie. We had a wonderful tiger brindle for 12 years and miss him dearly. Yours looks like a big one, love the stockiness!
yep, he’s a big guy!
I made this and it is delicious! However, I used the Further Foods chocolate collagen and then omitted the cacao nibs. I also took it easy on the honey.
glad you liked it mary!!
