It’s been a while since I did an updated version of the skincare products I’m using daily and the makeup products I can’t live without, so today is the day! Today I’m going to share my daily routine of what skincare products I use every morning and every evening, and the makeup routine I’ve being doing daily. When my skin finally improved after accutane and I was able to get rid of my cystic acne, I stopped wearing makeup most days. It was always a goal of mine to not feel like I had to wear makeup every day to cover up my skin. But I found that I felt more comfortable and confident and even more productive when I put makeup on every day. Since I work from home, it’s pretty easy to stay in my pajamas, not brush my teeth and not wear makeup, but if I do that first thing in the morning, I find that I’m more energetic and excited for what the day holds.

Just a little recap in case you’ve never read any of my blog posts – I had incredibly terrible and painful cystic acne and was able to combat it with accutane (see the full story here). I’ve been able to turn back time with a lot of hard work with my amazing esthetician (Shawn Haviland at Cherry Hills Facial Aesthetics 720-459-7960) through BBL treatments, Venus Viva laser and Profractional treatments (my all time favorite) AND through using products DAILY! I’m a big believer in consistency. Consistency in diet, exercise, and yes, skincare routine. The more you stick with the products you choose to use, the more likely you will see results. But just like exercise and diet, if you aren’t consistent, you won’t see the full benefit of those products.

Morning Skincare Routine-

Tinkle Facial Razor – I use this razor all over my face once a week to get rid of dead skin and remove any hair on my face.

24K Gold Intensive Collagen Under Eye Mask – I use these whenever my eyes are a little puffy and I’m looking more tired than usual.

Vivant Skin Care Mandelic Acid 3-in-1 Wash – This wash helps suppress acne bacteria, restrains the formation of Melanin that causes blotchy pigmentation, lifts off brown spots and stimulates new collagen growth.

Vivant Skin Care Buffing Grains – I use this usually every other day. It’s great for removing excessive dead skin and surface oils as part of your skin care regimen. Also rich in natural and sustainable Glycerin that locks moisture into the skin, keeping skin feeling smooth. I love it for taking off any excess makeup!

Beyond Complexion Regenerate Complex Serum – I just started using this a couple weeks ago and love it! With its active ingredients, this serum can deliver results similar to one injection of collagen filler in just two weeks of regular use! More plump skin YEAH!

Vivant Skin Care 8% Mandelic Acid 3-in-1 Serum – This formula that targets acne, age spots, discoloration and diminishes wrinkles by reducing the activity of sebaceous glands, generating new collagen, and is also an antibacterial.

Beyond Complexion Vitamin C-20+ High Potency Serum – If you’re not using a Vitamin-C serum daily, it’s time! This anti-aging antioxidant serum penetrates the skin with vitamins C & E, and hyaluronic and phytic acids- a combo that gets those skin cells moving! This makes you regenerate new, fresh cells, and leaves skin looking refreshed with fewer fine lines, sun spots and scars.

Tula Volume Defense Serum (use code PALEOMG for 20% off skincare) – This concentrated serum specifically targets the look of deep wrinkles and lines by combining natural probiotics with retinol and Vitamin C. It’s so smooth and soft and leaves your skin feeling buttery!

EltaMD SPF 46 OR Beyond Complexion Daily Facial Moisturizer SPF 30 – I love both of these SPF’s, so it really just depends on what I have planned that day. If I’m going to be outside more, I wear the SPF 46. If I plan to be inside most of the day, I use the SPF 30. Both of the SPF’s are wonderful because they don’t clog the skin, resulting in break outs. I love both of them!

Tula Illuminating Serum (use code PALEOMG for 20% off skincare) – This lightweight serum targets the appearance of dark spots, hyperpigmentation and dull skin, revealing a youthful glow and brightened complexion. This serum seriously makes your skin GLOW!

Daily Makeup Routine –

Urban Decay Optical Illusion Complexion Primer – It took me quite a while and multiple products to find a primer I love. This primer is velvety soft and lightweight with a slight pink tint to illuminate skin pre-makeup. It gives you a matte finish without drying out your skin, and gives you an airbrushed finish!

Tarte Lid Lock Clay Eye Base with Tarte Shape Tape 12-Hour Eye Primer Stick on top – My lashes are longer than usual right now so that means my mascara will often come off on my eyelids, so I’ve had to double up on my eyelid primer. I use both of these. The clay base is a matte finish and the primer stick is more of a pink shiny color, which is great since I don’t wear eyeshadow daily.

Jane Iredale Active Light Under-Eye Concealer (I wear medium yellow) – I just recently changed to this under-eye concealer and I’m OBSESSED! It covers any dark circles and doesn’t dry your under eyes out, leaving your eyes glowing and looking bright!

Jane Iredale Glow Time Full Coverage Mineral BB Cream SPF 25 (I wear BB5) – This BB cream is THE BEST. Once I found this cream, I started wearing makeup every day. This BB cream is full coverage, covering up any dark spots, blemishes  and it doesn’t sink into any wrinkles or creases. It’s seriously the best!

Beauty Counter Matte Bronzer #1 – Since my BB cream is on the lighter side because winter is coming and I refuse to purchase a different color, this bronzer warms the skin without shine!

Beauty Counter Matte Bronzer #2 – I use this bronzer as a contouring effect, since I know absolutely nothing about makeup or how to contour. I use this darker bronzer on my neck and neckline, cheekbones and the top of my forehead!

Too Faced Sweethearts Perfect Flush Blush – I’ve had this blush for years now! It seriously lasts forever and you barely need anything to give your skin just a little color!

Julep Glow Highlighting Powder with Rosehip Seed Oil – I’m OBSESSED with this highlighter! A little bit goes a long way with this stuff and really brightens up your face!

Beauty Counter Brushes Set – I started using this brush set a few months ago and I absolutely love it!

Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade Waterproof Brow Color with Anastasia Beverly Hills 7B Duo Brush – I have my eyebrows microbladed but I still fill my brows in daily since my hair is naturally blonde and this dipbrow helps darken the color!

L’Oréal Paris Telescopic Original Mascara – I’ve seriously used this mascara since I was in high school and love it so much!

Evening Skincare Routine –

Vivant Skin Care Mandelic Acid 3-in-1 Wash  – I use the same wash that I use in the morning.

Vivant Skin Care Buffing Grains – Then I use the buffing grains every other day.

Vivant Skin Care Daily Repair Pads w/ 1% Mandelic Acid – These pads reduce skin pigmentation, improve acne and help reverse the visible signs of aging.

Beyond Complexion Vitamin A+ Exfoliating Therapy with Lactic Acid or Retin A .025% – I switch off between these products every other night. The Vitamin A Exfoliating Therapy works synergistically with lactic acid to deliver maximum cellular turnover with minimal irritation. Results include improved skin tone and texture, fewer lines and wrinkles, and acne impactions loosened and cleared. Retin A is very similar. It helps treat acne and is used to reduce the appearance of fine wrinkles and skin discoloration, and makes skin look smoother.

Tula Overnight Skin Rescue Treatment (use code PALEOMG for 20% off skincare) – This anti-aging treatment is super concentrated with probiotics and natural peptides to renew the look of the skin and reduce the appearance of lines, wrinkles and dull tone. It’s been especially helpful when I’ve started using Retin A and had to deal with especially dry skin. You wake up with your skin still feeling hydrated and plump!

That’s it haha!! It may look like a lot…because it is…but when I stick to this skincare regimen, I can continually see the difference and the improvement over time! And seeing these improvements and changes keeps me using these products every day! If you have questions about any of the products, let me know and I will answer them the best I can! I hope this helps you with figuring out your own skincare routine!

I just started Retin A .025% and I love it! It really does take off that top layer of skin… helping with both wrinkles and acne.

I had tried a retinol product from SkinCeuticals and is was great, but it cost almost $100 for a small tube (and it was less strong at .01%, which is the strongest you can buy over the counter).

Anyway, the prescription Retin A is so much cheaper ($30 for a larger tube) – it is quite strong for me so I mix 1/4 Retin A with 3/4 moisturizer for now (and I will eventually work my way up).

I will be 40 next year and I’m so glad to be starting the Retin A before my skin loses too much collagen.

Hey Juli – thanks for this post! I purchased the BB cream on your suggestion awhile back and LOVE IT. I’m also a die hard TULA fan too. Question about retin-A – do you get that from your doc or Shawn? Thanks for these posts! I so enjoy the beauty updates!! Going to try your lash suggestion of versalash next!

How did you find your amazing esthetician? Like what did you look for when you were looking for her? Or how did you find her and find that the procedures that she does on your skin are the right ones for you?

Hi Juli! Quick question. The products that Beyond Complexion carries are amazing and similar to Vivant Skincare. Do the serums work the same or do you see better results with one brand over the other? For example: I use Spin Trap by Vivant. How does it compare to the Beyond Complexion Vitamin C-20? Thank you!!!

    1. juli says:

i think they are very similar. both brands are amazing and i use both interchangeably just depending on what my esthetician has available at her office at the time! they are both made by amazing people!

Hi! What would you say the finish of the Glow Time BB Cream is? Is it a matte or dewy? Is it heavy when on? Thanks!

    1. juli says:

it’s more on the matte side! but it’s definitely not heavy

  7. Claire says:

    Hi Juli!

I just got the beyond complexion vitamin C serum. Do you use it before or after you moisturize? I am guessing before but just wanted to check.

    Thanks!!
    Claire

    1. juli says:

before!! you want to use any of your serums before moisturizer, on clean skin!

  8. Claire says:

    Thank you!!

  9. Claire E Strickland says:

Juli, thanks for this! Just ordered the primer and BB cream. What do you set it with? Powder?

    1. juli says:

i just use the beauty counter bronzers to set it, nothing else!

  10. Katie says:

You probably get this question all the time but does using the Tinkle razor on your face make hair grow in darker or thicker? Is using this razor similar to Dermaplaning? (Though I imagine it can’t be completely the same)

    1. juli says:

nope, hair grows back exactly the same! and it’s similar, but it doesn’t take off quite as much dead skin and hair
