That’s my excited face.

Oh sh*t. I can’t even hold it in. Word vomit is about to happen. I’M WRITING MY FIRST COOKBOOK!!

I’m literally tearing up just thinking about this. I’ve wanted this for so long and have gone back and forth about how I would accomplish this goal. But once I was approached by Scribe Publishing, I knew it was the right fit. Not only is the Publisher a CrossFitter as well, but she’s a paleo-er who gets my sense of humor and isn’t afraid of what I have to say. She’s so awesome.

I hadn’t thought about a writing a cookbook since my recipes are free over the internet, until readers began to ask for one. Which was very cool. It’s amazing people would actually want to purchase something when they can get it all free online. So really, I’m writing this cookbook for all of you who have supported me and wanted to show that support by purchasing a cookbook. So this cookbook will feature my favorite PaleOMG recipes along with many new recipes you won’t be able to find on the blog. Already have some good stuff for you!!

So what I want to know is, what are YOU looking for in a paleo cookbook? What is helpful to you and what would make your life easier in a paleo cookbook? Please leave your comments below and give your ideas because I’m making this cookbook for YOU all!

ANNNNNNND, omg, yes there is more. I’m now in the first steps of creating a PaleOMG app. Let’s be real here, obviously I am not the person doing it, I know nothing about anything…except sweets, but my good friend Peter who also put my website together for me, is doing the job. He’s amazing and spectacular so I’m trusting him to create something wonderful. BUT I want and need to know what you are looking for in a paleo app. I don’t do apps, I don’t really get them. I downloaded a food porn app once, but I’ve only looked at it once when I was too hungover to get out of bed. True story. So I need to know what people who actually use apps would like to see in a PaleOMG app?

Are you mad because there isn’t a recipe? Don’t you worry, there will be plenty all week!

Agree with previous posters on simple ingredients – something that you can find at a regular grocery store or all in once place at Whole Foods would even be OK. But this “1/2tsp guar gum” stuff is for the birds!

I especially love your treats/ breads because those make good snacks. And all-in-one slow cooker recipes.

I would definitely buy the book and app. Not sure what to do with an app, but if you can ask the developer to make a setting that it stays on the whole time the app is open, it would be great. I hate touching the ipad with my cooking-messy hands just to keep the screen open, like I do when I’m cooking with your blog open in Safari!
    I”m so excited!

Hi! I don’t have anything very helpful to suggest/request for the cookbook… but I do want to say congratulations!!! And also YAYYYY!!! 🙂

Definitely make sure it’s full of your sense of humor and crazy pictures, haha :). Paleo-on-a-poor-college-kid budget recipes would be awesome too!

Congratulations! 🙂 So excited for you. Have fun putting it together. I am sure it will sell like MAD!

Congratulations!!! I have thoroughly enjoyed many of your recipes and looke fwd to trying even more. There are A LOT of great suggestions and I think it would be great to see a page of listed ingredients/spices or whatnot to “always have on hand” ya know, the ones that seem to be used the most. It seems that there is always one or two that I never have until I need it and can’t find it. I don’t eat red meat/pork etc so I’m always looking for A lot of chicken recipes that vary in flavor.

But most definitely keep the funny in it. It’s good to cook and laugh at the same time!

    Thanks!!!

Yeah!!! I am so excited for you, and I will definitely be purchasing a cookbook. One of my favorite things about some cookbooks and cooking blogs is pictures. I am a visual gal, and it really helps to be able to see what things look like when finished or if there is something somewhat confusing like, “cook it down until there is just a fingertip of liquid left and the meat is brown on the edges”–a picture helps a lot with that kind of thing. I don’t do apps very much, but that sounds cool, too!

This is fantastic news! I’ve been creeping on your blog for a long time, but this has inspired me to comment, finally. Seriously, can’t wait to get a copy of your cookbook. Hurry up with it, already! I agree with many other comments, that quick and easy dishes are great. It’s one of the many things I love about most of your recipes. Also, “leftovers” ideas would be a useful addition. Someone else mentioned making it spiral bound. I concur!!

Off topic, but since I’m commenting, I may as well give you major props…I have yet to try a recipe of yours that wasn’t a success. You are, by far, my favorite paleo blogger. Congratulations and keep up the great work!!

Great news! Lots of great feedback… totally on board with the App idea… shopping lists… what about a page on substitutions for stuff? Like what’s a good substitute for Concentrated Coconut Cream… that kind of stuff. It has to be in color! Has to have clever anecdotes…

Awesome! I am such a big fan (and not your only one down in South Florida, you should know!). My BIGGEST thing that I would love to see is nutritional information. Maybe that would help to keep me from eating the entire batch of whatever recipe of yours that I just made before my fiancee can even try it.

I’ve been waiting for an announcement like this!!! I will most definitely buy your cookbook!

This is so awsome! I love, love, love cookbooks. I am new to Paleo, so keeping it simple is key. Since I am a parent slow cooker and casserole recipes would be awsome. Congrats and I look forward to your cookbook!
