That’s my excited face.

Oh sh*t. I can’t even hold it in. Word vomit is about to happen. I’M WRITING MY FIRST COOKBOOK!!

I’m literally tearing up just thinking about this. I’ve wanted this for so long and have gone back and forth about how I would accomplish this goal. But once I was approached by Scribe Publishing, I knew it was the right fit. Not only is the Publisher a CrossFitter as well, but she’s a paleo-er who gets my sense of humor and isn’t afraid of what I have to say. She’s so awesome.

I hadn’t thought about a writing a cookbook since my recipes are free over the internet, until readers began to ask for one. Which was very cool. It’s amazing people would actually want to purchase something when they can get it all free online. So really, I’m writing this cookbook for all of you who have supported me and wanted to show that support by purchasing a cookbook. So this cookbook will feature my favorite PaleOMG recipes along with many new recipes you won’t be able to find on the blog. Already have some good stuff for you!!

So what I want to know is, what are YOU looking for in a paleo cookbook? What is helpful to you and what would make your life easier in a paleo cookbook? Please leave your comments below and give your ideas because I’m making this cookbook for YOU all!

ANNNNNNND, omg, yes there is more. I’m now in the first steps of creating a PaleOMG app. Let’s be real here, obviously I am not the person doing it, I know nothing about anything…except sweets, but my good friend Peter who also put my website together for me, is doing the job. He’s amazing and spectacular so I’m trusting him to create something wonderful. BUT I want and need to know what you are looking for in a paleo app. I don’t do apps, I don’t really get them. I downloaded a food porn app once, but I’ve only looked at it once when I was too hungover to get out of bed. True story. So I need to know what people who actually use apps would like to see in a PaleOMG app?

Are you mad because there isn’t a recipe? Don’t you worry, there will be plenty all week!

    Congrats!

Would be cool to have menus where you give suggestions as to what to pair with what, like a full meal with protein, fat and carbs (and at what time of day not to eat fat or carbs). Also, the snack section is something that I’m sure many people struggle with. Oh, and since this is most likely going to be for crossfitters, maybe hints as to what to eat after a wod and before a wod.

    Thanks,
    M

My only thought would be to make sure if you use a local product to specify a more popular substitute as well; and/or put a website where it could be ordered. Sounds like it’s gonna be awesome!!!!

Don’t change your style! Sounds like you won’t. 🙂
How about kinda categorizing recipes. Like this one is great before a competition. This one is great when you want to gain 5 sugary pounds. You know what I mean. I think.
    I’m so excited!

Someone may have already said this, but I am at work and don’t have time to read all of the entries. Work is so over rated. I am thinking maybe a section of the app that allows you to make a grocery list of ingredients that you can email to yourself or just pull up when you are at the store. Thoughts?

Can you please keep a separate crockpot section (like your blog is designed) thankyou

Holy Balls! I almost just peed myself I’m SO EXCITED for this! I use your recipes almost 3-4 times a week. I am doing a Whole30 at the moment and your blog is so awesome and helpful! Even when i was “just paleo” you were still super awesome, but now you are doing a cookbook AND an APP! We gots a badass on our hands! YAY! I would love to see …

    Sweets
    Chicken/Poultry
    Beef
    Game Meats
    Fish
    Crockpot

Then also have some references like the blog as to where to obtain said wonderfulnessicity (ie: special ingredients)! Boom! That’s my word, cuz it is!

The app would be cool to have links to different websites to order products and of course a place for recipes..AND to order your awesome headbands/tanks/shirts ;o)

Thank you for all your effort, time, dedication, and awesomeness! I love this blog!

Congratulations! Love your photos with the recipes. I would love to have a pre and post workout food section as well! Also maybe a substitution section. i.e. when you see cornstarch in a recipe what you can use to replace it, or butter, etc.

    Love you stuff, you’re awesome
    Andrea

    Congratulations Juli! Great news!

Love exactly what you’re doing now – your recipes are clear, easy to follow, easy to experiment with.

Protein breakfast and protein snacks are the ‘big deal’ for me, so any cookbook that highlights these gets my attention.

Best of luck with your new project – can’t wait to see the results!

To echo everyone else, I love your blog so please make sure the cookbook lets your personality shine through. I have been paleo for about a year now and love to cook but one thing I find that most paleo cookbooks and websites are lacking are vegetable sides. For those that do have them most of the ones posted are sweet potatoes or sweeter squashes. I would love to see some creative recipes for things like broccoli, cauliflower, zucchini, asparagus, brussel sprouts, etc. I get sick of just roasting them in the oven. It is sometimes hard to get creative with side dishes and I think everyone could use a lot of help in that area. Also, would love to see lots of pictures of your recipes. The worst is a cookbook without pictures that help you envision how good it is going to taste. Finally, it may be cool to post a little story with each recipe on what you were doing when you created it or your inspiration for creating it.

Thanks for the great blog. Looking forward to buying the cookbooks.

PS – I shared your blog with a friend who isn’t even paleo but she still subscribes to it because you are freakin hilarious 🙂

I would like to see recipes that are non-paleo that you have made paleo.
