That’s my excited face.

Oh sh*t. I can’t even hold it in. Word vomit is about to happen. I’M WRITING MY FIRST COOKBOOK!!

I’m literally tearing up just thinking about this. I’ve wanted this for so long and have gone back and forth about how I would accomplish this goal. But once I was approached by Scribe Publishing, I knew it was the right fit. Not only is the Publisher a CrossFitter as well, but she’s a paleo-er who gets my sense of humor and isn’t afraid of what I have to say. She’s so awesome.

I hadn’t thought about a writing a cookbook since my recipes are free over the internet, until readers began to ask for one. Which was very cool. It’s amazing people would actually want to purchase something when they can get it all free online. So really, I’m writing this cookbook for all of you who have supported me and wanted to show that support by purchasing a cookbook. So this cookbook will feature my favorite PaleOMG recipes along with many new recipes you won’t be able to find on the blog. Already have some good stuff for you!!

So what I want to know is, what are YOU looking for in a paleo cookbook? What is helpful to you and what would make your life easier in a paleo cookbook? Please leave your comments below and give your ideas because I’m making this cookbook for YOU all!

ANNNNNNND, omg, yes there is more. I’m now in the first steps of creating a PaleOMG app. Let’s be real here, obviously I am not the person doing it, I know nothing about anything…except sweets, but my good friend Peter who also put my website together for me, is doing the job. He’s amazing and spectacular so I’m trusting him to create something wonderful. BUT I want and need to know what you are looking for in a paleo app. I don’t do apps, I don’t really get them. I downloaded a food porn app once, but I’ve only looked at it once when I was too hungover to get out of bed. True story. So I need to know what people who actually use apps would like to see in a PaleOMG app?

Are you mad because there isn’t a recipe? Don’t you worry, there will be plenty all week!

    Awesome!

What an accomplishment! Your cookbook will stand out not only because of your sparkly personality, but your recipes are delicious, easy, and unique.

I like the previous ideas of the holiday/kiddo recipes, nutritional data, and pre/post workout ideas.

And don’t think the above mentioned are the only reasons we will be buying a copy, promoting it to friends/family, and giving your cookbook as gifts…you have also been an inspiration for us to stay healthy and to have fun doing it, all the while staying humble!

    Congratulations!

Congrats Juli! I’m on the cusp of jumping into Crossfit and just discovered the awesomeness that is you and this site. For the app, would love to be able to ‘Favorite’ and/or ‘Save for Later’ recipes of interest. Also would love the option of a simple way to find a recipe, such as by meal type or ingredient (similar to how it’s done here already). Finally, would be awesome to have a selection of your cooking videos linked to the app – because they’re fun and visual and some people are visual learners. Anywho, hope something in there is helpful. Good luck!

I am so excited about this! Congrats! Maybe include some easy on-the-go type meals. I’m a college student and I work a lot as well so keeping up with Paleo can be a challenge–I would love tips and ideas for snacks/recipes that I could make microwaveable or that are freezer-friendly, etc.

Awesome! Awesome! Awesome! So excited for you. Color photos are great. Recipes that don’t require exotic ingredients you go out and buy for this “one” recipe and then never use again. And for me personally, because I am selfish that way, recipes for people who have a lot of food intolerances and can’t do dairy, nuts, seeds, coconut products, fruit, or honey. *Yeah, I know!

YES!!! I knew this day would come! Congrats! Can’t wait!

I beg of you — hire someone to calculate out all the nutrition facts of your recipes. As a type 1 diabetic trying to follow the primal lifestyle, I HAVE to know the carb, fat and protein content of a recipe that I cook, or else I can’t eat it. I LOVE when cookbooks provide that info for me, so I don’t have to do math. I think a lot of other diabetics are starting to get into paleo, also, so it could become a big selling point to a lot of people!

Otherwise, love your blog, love your sense of humor, love the recipes! Plus you totally motivate me to get off my butt and move. I need that.

congrats juli! i’m wondering if you can include some high protein or veggie breakfasts (besides eggs). i have a sweet tooth in the morning and larabars / unsweetened applesauce have become a go-to especially since they are easy to keep at work. but i wanted to try the 21-day sugar detox sooo any other, easy, on-the-go breakfast ideas would be a huge help! congrats again! 🙂

    congrats!

some things I truly enjoy in cookbooks:
    – ideas to change the recipe up a bit or even ideas on how to use the left-overs
    – list of products you use
    – ways to make a recipe “quick and easy” or how to prep ahead
    – what would go good with a certain recipe. you know, “try this with…”/”this would be good with…”
    – holiday/get-together dinner ideas, if the book isn’t primarily focused on holiday cooking. even if it’s just, like, the fourth of july or someone’s birthday.
    – tips/tricks

something I would like to see more:
    – how to do quick and easy lunches or snacks.
I’m always looking to change up what I take to work to snack on or have a meal break with. it would be nice to have some more ideas.

oh, I want to think of more, but I’m not doing such a hot job.

Congratulations Juli!!!!!! I’m super excited for you!

Cookbooks are great, and paleo ones are even better but one thing I struggle with is…”ok, great you gave me a KILLER recipe but what do I serve with it?” Perhaps you can add in suggestions of sides to go with each dish. Also, I like recipes that have ingredients I can use over.

And PLEASE put your sense of humor into the cookbook! <3
