That’s my excited face.

Oh sh*t. I can’t even hold it in. Word vomit is about to happen. I’M WRITING MY FIRST COOKBOOK!!

I’m literally tearing up just thinking about this. I’ve wanted this for so long and have gone back and forth about how I would accomplish this goal. But once I was approached by Scribe Publishing, I knew it was the right fit. Not only is the Publisher a CrossFitter as well, but she’s a paleo-er who gets my sense of humor and isn’t afraid of what I have to say. She’s so awesome.

I hadn’t thought about a writing a cookbook since my recipes are free over the internet, until readers began to ask for one. Which was very cool. It’s amazing people would actually want to purchase something when they can get it all free online. So really, I’m writing this cookbook for all of you who have supported me and wanted to show that support by purchasing a cookbook. So this cookbook will feature my favorite PaleOMG recipes along with many new recipes you won’t be able to find on the blog. Already have some good stuff for you!!

So what I want to know is, what are YOU looking for in a paleo cookbook? What is helpful to you and what would make your life easier in a paleo cookbook? Please leave your comments below and give your ideas because I’m making this cookbook for YOU all!

ANNNNNNND, omg, yes there is more. I’m now in the first steps of creating a PaleOMG app. Let’s be real here, obviously I am not the person doing it, I know nothing about anything…except sweets, but my good friend Peter who also put my website together for me, is doing the job. He’s amazing and spectacular so I’m trusting him to create something wonderful. BUT I want and need to know what you are looking for in a paleo app. I don’t do apps, I don’t really get them. I downloaded a food porn app once, but I’ve only looked at it once when I was too hungover to get out of bed. True story. So I need to know what people who actually use apps would like to see in a PaleOMG app?

Are you mad because there isn’t a recipe? Don’t you worry, there will be plenty all week!

Pre/Post workout snacks, coconut flour treats-pancakes, waffles, breakfast breads-food for on the go-after I work all day then WOD I get home and I am eating at almost 8-8:30 p.m.!!-stuff I can put in my purse/gym bag to eat–& crockpot love-love being able to just start shoveling in food as soon as I get home. Your awesome sense of humor!

Congratulations, Juli! I can’t wait to get your cookbook. I LOVE cookbooks and virtually can’t use any of mine since eating paleo….obviously. Your blog is wonderful and your recipes are awesome! But I do love having an actual cookbook in front of me. Like many others, I also like to “read” cookbooks. I would like to see you include your story and how you began your paleo journey and any time or money-saving tips you have learned along the way. And a picture with every recipe for sure….Thanks so much for all your wonderful recipes!

I’m sure I’m not adding anything new, but I’m doin it anyway:

    -Grab n go foods
-Not necessarily Zone (but maybe), but reminders that proportions are important (read: You’re not going to get ripped living on paleo brownies and almond butter. No really, I tried.)
-Alternatives to the meat-over-salad meal-in-a pinch

I guess the theme I’m seeing is help us be lazy and paleo at the same time. Hmmm…is there a book title there? The Lazy Caveman.

OK, new theme emerging: ‘Lazy’ and ‘Fit’ don’t really go together….I get it…

This is what I want from any cookbook I buy: at least 85% of the recipes should be comprised of ingredients that any paleo/primal person would have on hand in their well-stocked kitchen.

No one wants to have to go shopping every time they cook a new recipe from their new favorite cookbook, just to buy something obscure that they will probably never use again. It’s annoying and expensive.

I think you do a good job of this on the blog, but I thought I would call this out anyway 🙂

CONGRATS!! I’m super excited for you Juli, and I know you’ll be great…side note…do a book tour so we can meet you in person 😉 and get your fancy rock star autograph! Anyway, Paleo can be VERY overwhelming in the beginning, so the app is super rad for us newbies 🙂 I would love a shopping list and a staples list of things you should always have one hand. Maybe even go as far as suggesting what to look for when dining out with friends and family. As far as your cookbook goes, menus would be great for us people who work full time and go to school full time…aka insane people who should be raving alcoholics!… it’d be easy peezy! Your recipes are awesome and easy to follow now…can’t wait for the book! xoox

I think adding in a less than 30 minute section would be great, especially for first time paleo-er’s, a lot of people think this stuff is hard and usually those are people who cannot boil and egg (ok truthfully boiling a perfect egg isn’t easy). When I tell people I eat eggs with veggies thrown in for dinner and that it takes me less time to make this then go thru a drive-thru they are amazed. So, a K.I.S.S. section for people would be great! Oh and because I’m on a roll – this section could also explain how to re-heat said crock-pot meals, creating whole new meals…
    Good Luck and Congrats!

Yay I want a copy already!!!! I love your recipes because they are yummy, easy to make and made with ingredients that are easy to find. My family of non paleo eaters love what I make from your site and don’t even know the difference. If you just add things like you have here you will be sure to have a best seller! I can’t wait!!!

Your recipes are like nothing I have ever tried.

I dont live the paleo lifestyle but I do and will make most of my meals that way – not for any philosophical reason- simply I prefer to eat real whole food and paleo is usually beyond delicious.

So beyond the amazing food, your blog and writing also throw in so much LIFE to your food which adds a Flavour for the soul. Don’t lose that. I believe that’s what makes the recipes taste even better.

And I agree with other posters, a pantry and grocery lit Wouk be great.
