If you haven’t seen Steve’s Original sauces yet, you need to get with the program. Paleo sauces and dressings?! Yes please. When I got this Peach BBQ sauce, I had to figure out how to incorporate it into some of my food without the grill. Aka meatloaf. I love meatloaf. But I don’t love the almond flour that’s often in paleo meatloaf. So I removed the nuts and eggs, and just added more veggies. So this meatloaf doesn’t stand up perfectly when you slice into it, but it tastes delicious. Just trust me, and eat it. Asap.

I am so frustrated. The only thing I want out of life is to smell like clean laundry. And I wash my clothes more than you think. I use the good smelling detergent and delicious smelling dryer sheets, and, nothing. I smell like a normal human. I hate it. Seriously, the most attractive thing in a male is when they smell like clean clothes. Not cologne, no thank you. Just clean linens. I love clean linens.

Speaking of attractive males, I have new celebrity crushes. I don’t tend to have crushes (that’s a lie) but celebrity crushes seem more realistic since the men in real life here in Denver Colorado aren’t really crushin’ back. F*ckin’ guys. So my first and forever crush is John Krasinski. If you’re not sure who that is, he is in ‘The Office’ and ‘Something Borrowed’ and a ton of other movies. He’s funny. And real funny. And well, he’s dreamy.

like….what?

And now my new crush is from the new movie ‘Pitch Perfect.’ Have you ever seen that movie? OMG. I LOVE it. Laura and I rented it onDemand twice last week. That’s $10 to watch it twice. Kind of stupid. We might as well buy it. But it just felt right. Skylar Astin is just the great. I freaking love a cappella singing. And he is just the greatest little a cappella actor ever. And he’s funny. Obviously, I’m into funny.

oh stop it Skylar

If you haven’t seen that movie, do it. I’m pretty sure it’s going to have a sequel so you might as well get obsessed with it, just like me. And with John. Gosh, I love you, John.

Wanna see a cool video to wrap up your Friday? Of course you do. Because it’s the video of the gym I work at. And I love my gym. And the people. And people working out in slowmo. Watch it right now!!

4.7 from 6 reviews

  • Yield: 3-4 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1lb ground turkey
  • 1 (8oz) container of sliced mushrooms, diced
  • 1 yellow onion
  • 1 red bell pepper
  • 1/4 cup Steve’s Original Paleo Chef Peach BBQ Sauce
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fat of choice (I used bacon fat)
  • 2 teaspoons fresh tarragon, chopped
  • salt and pepper, to taste
  • fresh tarragon, to garnish on top
  • as much Steve’s Original Paleo Chef Peach BBQ Sauce as you would like to top your meatloaf

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  2. Run your yellow onion and red pepper through the shredding attachment on your food processor to make your onion and pepper well minced.
  3. Add your onion and red pepper to a skillet over medium heat with 2 tablespoons of fat in it and 2 minced garlic cloves. Cook down until onions are translucent.
  4. Then add your cooked onion and pepper to a large mixing bowl along with the ground turkey, mushrooms, 1/4 cup BBQ sauce, 2 teaspoon fresh tarragon, and salt and pepper to taste. Mix well with your hands until you get them well combined.
  5. Add mixture to two mini loaf pans (like I did) or one large one. Pack it down well to make sure everything stays in tact.
  6. Place in oven and bake for 25-30 minutes.
  7. Let rest.
  8. Eat up. I ate mine over a baked sweet potato. Because why wouldn’t you!?

First and foremost, I LOVE Pitch Perfect. I watched 4 times in the past week. I almost had a 4 year old child freak out when my sister asked me to leave my copy of the DVD at her house so she could watch it, I was thinking ummmm we could watch it together then I can take funny Fat Amy home with me. I can’t get enough Horizontal Running. Secondly, I find that switching my detergent every so often keeps me smelling fresh. I get used to the smells so when I change my detergent or shampoo, I’m like heeyyyyy I smell good. Finally, I always always make sure to switch the clothes from the washer to the dryer ASAP. There is NOTHING worse than when someone (or their towels) smell of mildew. Oh and your meatloaf looks good too.

I watched Pitch Perfect twice too. I considered quitting Paleo and picking up horizontal running to be just like Fat Amy, but ehhh, but I like WOD’s and your blog too much for that.

I might make this meatloaf tonight for Virginia Tech’s Bowl Game. Goooooooooooo Hokies!!

This looks like a summer recipe and boy do I miss summer. Just a bit 😉 I think it’s the post-Christmas what-to-do-blues. Anyway, you and my husband hold the -exact- same views on fresh linen scents. I personally like to smell like the outdoors (pine trees and wind, dirt and grass, a flower or two); it drives him nuts!
Can’t wait to try this meatloaf and bring a bit of sunshine into the house with those peaches. Steve’s Original: you kill me with your awesome.

After many, many years of just thinking about it, I finally did it: I baked my meat loaf in muffin tins. One pound of ground meat (plus veggies, etc.) made four large “muffins” of meat loaf. They’re individual servings, easy to transport, store, freeze if necessary–it turns out they’re great and I don’t know why it took me so long to try it. It also eliminates that messy slicing that doesn’t always work with meat loaf missing oatmeal or other binders like almond flour. Give it a try! It’s great!

By the way, my current crushes are the two pretty boys Rupert Friend (who was “friends” with Kiera Knightley) and Eddie Redmayne, who’s in Les Miserables. Pretty, pretty!

I used to have the same problem with my clothes. My mom gave me a great tip….First, she starts the washer with her detergent. When it fills up with water, stop it and pour in baking soda and let your clothes soak for a while. I think she soaked mine for a few hours. Then turn your washer back on and let it finish its cycle. Put your clothes immediately in the dryer. They came out smelling awesome. Also, wash your whites with a little bit of clorox. I know its not the best stuff, but my stuff always smells clean. Hope it helps!

LOVE Pitch Perfect too! That Skylar is sooo adorable. And I pretty much peed myself when I saw it in theaters. Then I bought it for my sister (myself) for Christmas!

And John?? 100% agree! And you know what? He’s TALL! Like really tall. I’m 5′ 7” so height is important.

Is it ok to have celebrity crushes if you’re in a happy, fulfilling relationship with a great (real-life) guy? I think celeb crushes are better than like real crushes in that case.

Omg, I’m glad I’m not the only one obsessed with fresh smelling laundry! At the gym there’s always a handful of people who always smell like clean laundry, but I never say anything bc I don’t want to be the weirdo that admits to “smelling” people! I think it’s Kirkland brand laundry soap from Costco that all the fresh linen smelling people use 🙂

My 23-month old and I just watched part of your Crossfit Broadway video. She said, “Have fun! Bar-bar [barbell]!” (We’re teaching her early.)

Loved Pitch Perfect – also had to watch it more than once in less than 24 hours. My husband asked if I was going to do the dishes last night and made good use of the “sometimes I think I can do crystal meth” reference. Zinger. I love Michael Fassbender (best Mr. Rochester in ages) and Chris Hemsworth (Cabin in the Woods…also Thor. Can’t forget Thor, although I’m pretty sure Thor should always walk around without a shirt on).

i cannot express how sad i get when i watch something borrowed. i love my best friend, too, but am pretty sure it won’t end up like that- he’s getting married. uhhh so lame.

as for pitch perfect, my best friend (same guy) told me how amazing it is and that i must see it asap. will probably rent it ondemand tonight. i remember one weekend i bought magic mike twice because, well, i don’t even need to explain myself.
