I know I’m a bit behind the times, but I’m obsessed with the show Entourage right now. After the devastating finale of Game of Thrones, a boring season of Orange is the New Black, and an absolutely hella confusing season of True Detective, we just moved onto Entourage. Do you think Hollywood is really like that? We were watching an episode last night and a couple girls were just casually talking about who would sleep with Vince first. Do you think it’s really like that? Just ho’s fo’ sho everywhere? I need to know if this is real life.

Speaking of ho’s (hoe’s?), did you guys watch how mean people were to Caitlyn, The Bachelorette? People told her to die because she had sex with a guy on the show. They literally wished death upon her. Is that the weirdest thing you’ve ever heard? You know that everyone on that show sleeps with each other but since her sex noises were played on national television, she should die? Have you ever told someone to die over Twitter? Or any social media outlet? Because if you have, you have no soul. Just a fact. I support her sleeping with whoever. Gotta test drive, duh.

Oh my lawwwwd, I can’t wait for Bachelor Pad season.

I think I need to stop watching so much tv. Get your life together, Juli.

Did you guys see what happened on IG the other day??! I got the first copy of my new cookbook, Juli Bauer’s Paleo Cookbook!!!!! How did I celebrate? Well, I whipped and nae-nae’d of course. How else would I celebrate? I seriously cannot believe the book is here. I’ve been working on it for a year, I finally have it in my own hands, but I still have to wait for a little under a month until you guys get it! Ahhhhhh, get here faster August 18th! It was so cool to see my book hit #1 in New Releases in Gluten Free Diets, all because you guys are so awesome and so supportive! Thank you thank you! If you haven’t already, be sure to preorder a copy because it’s the cheapest I’ve ever seen it in any store or during any sale. It’s marked down from $34.95 to now $18.13. So dang cheap!

But wait, that wasn’t the only exciting thing that happened. We got our engagement pictures back and I absolutely love them. I really wanted to have pictures from this time in our lives because it’s such a fun and cool time. And based on how people talk about marriage, especially at weddings, it seems like marriage isn’t always fun. So I want to have some pictures to remind us how much we love each other, even though we might not feel that way in the moment. But, can we talk about why people always talk about the miserable times at weddings? I know they are trying to spread their knowledge, but that’s pretty much the last thing you want to hear while you are saying your own vows. This trend must stop. Check back at the blog tomorrow, I’m going to share some pictures and outfits from our photoshoot!

      Oh, Hi! I’m Juli.

I’m a food hoarder. And a really bad dancer. If you don’t know me well, you will probably not understand my humor. Therefore, I apologize ahead of time. Thanks for listening to my ramblings of my ever-changing life and trusting my kitchen mishaps. Your trust in me is appreciated.

      1. I am cracking up about the first part of the blog post! I totally feel ya with the TV shows right now. We are back to watching The Office cause it is always good and never gets old. I love tropical salsa on fish, so your recipe is a must-make for me!

      2. OINTB was meh and True Detective is also SO BORING, so I started watching Entourage, too. I love Ari and Lloyd so much. I wish I was friends with them. Maybe not Ari. I would learn a whole new set of insults, though, which could be fun.

I pretend it’s real, although I find it so rude that Vince talks on the phone while he’s having sex. Who does that?

      3. Ahhh Entourage is the bomb! Me & my boyfriend watched the whole series a couple years ago, & were so pumped when the movie came out this summer. You’ll have to go see it once you’re done the show!

      4. From what I’ve seen your engagement photos turned out beautifully. Also, I love your reasoning for wanting them! I feel the same way about photos, I love to surround myself with pictures of the good times.

      5. People did that to me at my wedding too!! That was 4 years ago and lemme tell you, marriage is the best!! I absolutely love living with my best friend. It isn’t always easy every second of everyday but it’s always worth it. Your gonna love it.

        1. isn’t that weird? why would people talk about negative stuff when it’s such a positive moment. everyone knows it won’t be easy, it’s marriage. glad to hear you still love it

      6. Juli, your photos look great. I loved my wedding, my husband and I had a great time!. Just don’t forget to eat. Marriage is great, we are celebrating 10 years this year and let me tell you after 10 years and 2 kids, its just keeps getting better!

      7. This was so good! I used a mango instead of the peach and nectarine because it’s what I had on hand, and it turned out great! Love the way the sweetness of the salsa goes with the spiciness of the fish!

PS I got engaged around the same time you did, so it’s been fun following all your wedding planning updates! I can totally relate to all this, except our engagement shoot got canceled due to a freak storm, but soon!

        1. i had to cancel our first shoot because of weather too! hope you get yours done soon! it’s so glad to have photos of this fun time in life!

      8. I really liked this dish. Cod can be pretty bland so the spices really added great flavor and it’s not too spicy! I didn’t have a nectarine so I just used peaches and it was fabulous. A nice sweet compliment to the spicer fish.

      9. Too silly, you just listed in order the exact show sequence I am going through right now! OTNB and True Detective…meh this season. Bachelorette also disappointing, so I started Entourage (so many episodes!!!). I agree it’s shocking some of the stuff that goes on in the show in Hollywood, and I bet this is just a sliver of the truth! Also, praise be to cod and this amazing salsa. I want to make lots of this salsa and eat it on all my proteins.

      10. You’re not that BAD a dancer. As long as you’re having fun, who cares. Will try the cod this weekend. Congrats on the pending nuptials. I’ve been at it now for 33 years in November with the SAME woman. It’s true that friendship will see you through the rough patches. At the end of the day you gotta know she/he has your back and that you’ll do the same ’cause there will be plenty of temptations along the way and I’m not talking about what’s in the fridge. LOL Have a great weekend.
