Good morning out there and happy Monday!! I really hope your week is starting off better than my husbands. Instead of having a 2 hour drive home from the mountains yesterday, it took him 8 hours. There were 2 avalanches and a ton of car accidents on the highway yesterday from all the sh*t ton of snow we got so he was literally parked on the highway. He said people were out of their cars going to the bathroom, talking to others, and someone even fell asleep at the wheel because there was absolutely no movement happening. THIS IS WHY I DON’T GO TO THE MOUNTAINS. My husband has all the patience in the world and he walked into our house last night at 2 in the morning swearing off the mountains all together. I’m with him. Snow is stupid. And causes traffic. I hate you snow.
But here’s the thing about this week – it’s going to throw us a ton of curve balls. Somedays it will be great and sometimes it will totally blow, but that is life. And if you’re willing to look at that life through different glasses and see the beauty in everything, life will become a bit more enjoyable each day, even after sitting in 8 hours of traffic. I grew up with someone who only saw the negative and it wore off me after a while. And it also took me many many years to break some of the negative habits I had taken on. But I can promise you, being positive it much more enjoyable and much less exhausting than being negative. If you haven’t read my 5 Steps to Being More Confident in 2019, give it a quick read. Because I’ve been following these 5 steps daily this year and I’ve never felt better.
Mindset is everything. Sure, you may have to scream into a pillow at some point when the highway shuts down and you have no exit to get off on. But after that scream, it’s time to smile, it’s time to decide your attitude for the day, and it’s time to create the world you want. Do you want results in the gym? Change your attitude. Do you want to see a positive change at work? Change your attitude. Do you want to have a better relationship with your partner? Change your attitude. A positive attitude change can lead to so much, you just don’t know it yet. Now go look in the mirror, give yourself a compliment, and go crush whatever you have in store on this Monday. Being pessimistic will get you absolutely no where. It’s the positivity that will change your life and in turn, change others along the way.

I was stuck in the avalanche traffic yesterday, too. It was NOT ideal!
nooooooo!! that’s so damn miserable.
I love your new positive outlook and attitude!!
thanks Jamie!
Hi Juli;
OK, I have followed you for several years. Quite honestly, that’s really creepy – but I guess it’s acceptable. Love your workouts, your fashion, you’re everything. I have purchased several items from Four Athletics from your collection and the quality has been amazing. That makes me feel really good. And Tula has changed my skin thanks to you! I have tried several companies… but so happy with Tula.
There are three meals that I have grown-up eating and I was wondering if there was any possible way you could make them Paleo or put your own twist on it.. Maybe you’re like, gross I don’t even want to eat this. That’s fine. But just thought I would throw this your way in case maybe you were interested.
1-Mrs. Nixon’s Hot Chicken Casserole. Look for the recipe without the MSG. It’s freaking awesome and I think it could be amazing perhaps….
2-Coq au vin? Yes?
3-I feel like you could do some kind of roulade. Whether it be with a pork tenderloin or a beef tenderloin, stuff that bitch and make it awesome.
Thanks Juli!
Carrie

thanks!
How often do you use the Nike running app? I don’t ever see it in your weekly workouts. Considering using it to train for my third half marathon.
i kind of forget about the extra runs, but i haven’t been using it as often as i would like since it’s been so shitty here in colorado! i’ll try to make sure to add in my runs in my weekly workouts posts!
