ANOTHER green smoothie? Come on, Juli.

I’m so freaking tired. These 5am shifts are pulling me down. It’s just so early. And so dark outside. And so depressing. At least I coach some amazing people, or it would be complete hell.

So yesterday, I ran to the gym. As soon as I started running, I knew it was a bad idea. I haven’t been this sore since Regionals. And I have no idea why. I’m going lighter in weights, so I’m moving quicker through the movements and actually using my muscle correctly…so that’s probably why. Like with back squats. I suck ass at them. So now that I’m going a bit lighter, I actually use my ass in the squats. And now I feel like someone beat my ass with a baseball bat. Cool, but not really. So after I got done at the workout yesterday, I did not run home. I walked. And it got cold reaaaaaaal quick. But there was no way my legs were going to move at a quicker pace, no way. But walking is fun sometimes. You notice more weird things. And people. Like the woman in the park who was kicking at the geese. These geese, just minding their own business, and this woman is kicking her way through. Rude. Weirdo.

Want a bra story to end your work week?! OK!!

So I bought this sticky bra a few weeks back and was pumped about it. Because it just sticks to your boobs and you have to do nothing. Genius. Until you’re on the dance floor and things get sweaty. Sticky bras can get a bit slippery in that situation. Ew. Anywho, I bought this new one and opened it up to find that it was two sizes too small. Packaging idiots. Did that mean I took it back and got a new size? Hell no. I’m too lazy for that nonsense. So I wore the sticky bra that was two sizes too small with pride. No comfortably. Whatsoever. I looked the opposite of middle school memories. Instead of wearing a padded bra that was two sizes too big and the boys chanting ‘boobless’ to me, I wore one that was two sizes too small, falling down to my belly while dancing, with the boys saying nothing. Absolutely nothing. Sexy Juli 2013 is having a rough start.

Don’t you love Friday bra stories? I sure do.

I never get tired of seeing new smoothie recipes. I recently started adding avocado to my smoothies but never try apples. I bet they add a great tang!

My blender is not so great so I looked up a Blendtec. Over $400? I think I just OMG’d in my pants. Yikes. I’ll have to budget a while for that 🙂 This smoothie sounds heavenly though!

I made this Saturday morning, and then I drank it all day long. I was carrying it around in my green thermos. Man, this was GOOD. That green apple really made it just perfect. Mmmm!!

Thanks for the 21 DSD recipe. I’m on day 8 and cravings are starting to level out. New recipes are always exciting!

Delicious smoothie! Though I didn’t realize until I tasted it that perhaps my lemon was on the larger side :D. I also added a bit of parsley.

My roommate is currently giving me a “wtf are you drinking there” look. Gonna make this so often now.

Juli, are you familiar with the Whole30? How does the 21 Day Detox vary from W30, is it just the natural sugar in fruit?

We’re blender twins! I love my Blendtec. I’m a huge advocate for green smoothies. All of the recipes on my site are totally paleo-friendly. Free of dairy, grains, processed sugar. Love your recipes– especially the muffins. Yum!

  9. Chris M says:

This has become my favorite green smoothie! Its the only type of smoothie I drink…so this is currently my favorite smoothie!

The other day I was decided to make one after a good workout. I had all of the ingredients in the blender and I went to search for a green apple. But I didn’t have one:'( What to do?

Well I go to the hills of Carolina to buy apples once a year and make tons of homemade paleo-friendly apple sauce for the year. I just so happened to have some unthawed and used it as a substitute. Besides introducing a little pumpkin pie spice into the drink, it turned out perfect! Well not as nearly perfect as the original recipe…but close enough..

Normally I don’t like avocado or spinach (I know, I know, shame on me) but this was really good! I made it for breakfast and it was the perfect start to my day! I also added a kiwi and next time I may add some banana. Keep the recipes coming!
