You know what may be the best feeling in the entire world? When you’re stuck in traffic, gripping your steering wheel so you don’t scream, then once it finally opens up and you slam on the gas petal because it’s the only way to release that built up stress in your body. Yep. That’s the best feeling in the world. I hate traffic.
Have you tried my Coffee Cake Banana Bread yet? It’s my favorite afternoon snack. And favorite banana bread I’ve made so far. Just thought I should voice that thought.
Yesterday was really overwhelming in my comments about finding a dog. People pretty much demanded that I adopt a dog. People, if there is a puppy French Bulldog out there to adopt, hells yeah I’m going to adopt it. But just like how some parents want to birth their own child and raise it, I feel the same way about a dog. Minus the birthing part. Obviously it’s way harder to find an adoption shelter that just has frenchie puppies running around everywhere. But if that occurs, I promise you that I will adopt that frenchie puppy. Ok? Ok.
And I’m not changing my mind about getting a frenchie, so please feel free to stop telling me about their health issues and looking into different dogs. You don’t see me telling people to think twice about having children since I don’t like them. Just sayin.
So I’m totally obsessed with leaving Yelp reviews. I like people knowing my opinion. Obviously. But I look to Yelp all the time for other people’s reviews about restaurants and different companies I want go to, so I feel that it is my civil duty to leave my opinion for others to see. I don’t write the long reviews that you get overwhelmed with as soon as you see it, just something simple and to the point. If the place is so-so, I tend to not write a review because I don’t really care. But if it’s awesome or awful, I’m writing something. I wrote a few just yesterday. One was real bad. I think I need to get a life. Whatever.
Crispy Sesame Brussels Sprouts with Creamy Curry Dipping Sauce
- Yield: 2-3 1x
Ingredients
- 2 cups of brussels sprouts, cut in half
- 3 tablespoons coconut oil, melted
- 3 tablespoons sesame oil (I used toasted sesame oil)
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
For the dipping sauce
- ½ cup 30 second mayo or Primal Kitchen
- handful of cilantro, minced
- 2 teaspoons curry powder (add teaspoon by teaspoon and taste it to make it to preference)
- ⅛ teaspoon cayenne pepper
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
- In a large bowl, mix together all ingredients and coat brussels sprouts on all sides.
- Place brussels sprouts on a parchment paper or silpat lined baking sheet. Spread out so the brussels sprouts aren’t overlapping and can cook evenly.
- Place in oven and bake for 35 minutes.
- Once brussels sprouts are in the oven, mix together all the ingredients for the dipping sauce and place in fridge to cool.
- Serve crispy brussels sprouts with dipping sauce.

I may have to try this this week. Brussels sprouts are one of my favorite vegetables, but I think I’ve only tried them one way (coconut oil + balsamic vinegar.) This looks like I good way to mix things up. Thanks!
I bought our puppy from a pet store *GASP!*. Guess what? Those dogs need homes, too. People freak our more about animals than they do people and it’s annoying. Get the dog you want however you choose to do it, and let the haters hate. It’s what they do best, lol.
Can’t wait to make these!!! Brussels sprouts are divine, and they get such a bad rap. Kind of like people who buy dogs instead of adopting…. 😉
Wonderful, wonderful side dish. I really liked the flavor.
I made these yesterday, and they were delicious! Now I have another go-to flavor, besides my usual balsamic lol. I also used the curry mayo baked on top of some cod to go with the brussels. Thank you for another great recipe!
I made these last night to rave reviews! My husband said they were better than in a restaurant and didn’t even need the dipping sauce. I didn’t think I liked brussels sprouts, but I’m now a convert!
DELICIOUS!
My whole family said these Brussel sprouts were “off the chain.” Thought I was going to have them all to myself but that’s not what happened.
These are amazing, love the crispy char on the outside. Thank you!
I made these last night, and OMG they are fabulous! They were so good I contemplated going back to the store for 2 more pounds of brussels sprouts just so I could make and eat another entire match. Amazing!
OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think I’m gonna have a bowl of the curry dipping sauce for dinner! Seriously! I had a piece of roasted rosemary-lemon chicken in the refrigerator and super starving decided to make it my appetizer. And why not try a dollop of the curry dipping sauce (while the Brussels sprouts are roasting) on my chicken?! Holy shi*balls! The best piece of food I’ve ever put in my mouth.
