It’s officially cold here in Colorado. It snowed for the first time two nights ago and I wept. I don’t want it to snow. Snow is meant for the mountains. For sledding. Not for waking up at 5am and driving in. That’s by far the worst. Our gym doesn’t believe in air conditioning or heat so we are constantly uncomfortable no matter what time of year it is. So when it snows and I work at 6am, you’ll see me bundled up in 3 jackets, a scarf, furry socks and ugg boots. Oh yeah duh, and gloves. Would you trust your CrossFit coach teaching you to snatch in full ski gear? I wouldn’t.

Now that winter has reared his ugly face…saying reared makes me feel weird…I’ve started pulling out last years jackets, searched deep in the closet for sweaters, and started bringing out every scarf I own. Blanket scarves seem to be the first ones that get pulled out, well, because they are HUGE and take up so much room. But it’s so worth it. This one I’m wearing below is new this year and probably the biggest of all. Meaning the best of all. But I also love my orange one and Christmas color one. If you’re still trying to figure out how the hell to wear a blanket scarf, this girl has a cute little tutorial!

I love faux leather leggings. And nowadays they are so easy to find and affordable. These ones below are only $60 and when you buy one pair, you can get another pair of leggings for only $20! If you aren’t sold on leather leggings yet or don’t know how to wear them, I’ll show you how I try to pull them off. Here are some past outfits I’ve worn with my favorite leather leggings:

  • Here’s an outfit with a longer vest
  • Here’s an outfit with a pop of color
  • Here’s an outfit with a slouchy sweater and high boots
  • Here’s an outfit with a poncho

I’ve been so in love with this plaid top ever since I got it. If you’ve been looking for the perfect plaid button up, look no further. This one is so soft, a great length, and it sits on the body perfectly! If weather is already too cold for skirts in your neck of the woods (will I get sued by the Today show for using that line?) then just add some black tights with this outfit and wear it to your holiday party! Or dress this top down with a casual outfit, like I did here!

Now it’s time for me to bundle up and head back to Nebraska! Packing all the blanket scarves!
