That picture is a weird picture. And a weird color. I even kind of look naked. Terrible, frightening choice.
I haven’t done one of these posts in a while. Mostly because I tend to forget to take pictures of everything I put in my mouth in one day. Stop thinking dirty thoughts, you weirdo. Anywho, I finally remembered so I could show you what I eat when I’m out of town. I’m in San Diego working with a friend on a project, so thankfully I still have home cooked food. And snacks. I love snacking. You’ll see.
I can’t wait to tell you about this project. It’s an exciting one.
But for now, let’s just talk about what I ate the other day. It was a big eating day. I know this because I have felt full pretty much the entire day. This post will satisfy the people who don’t think I eat enough. But upset the people who think I eat too much. Ya just can’t win, can ya? I’m talking to myself right, FYI.
And we’re off!
Breakfast:
Started my day off with a cup of coffee with about a tablespoon of raw honey in it.
Then I had a breakfast of 3 pieces of bacon, 2 eggs, avocado, and tomatoes. I put some sriracha on it.

Snack:
A couple hours later, I wanted a snack. So I had an almond butter and jelly cocoroon. LOVE. Great flavor. I was pretty pumped to see that flavor on the shelf in San Diego. I packed a bag of it for Laura back in CO. Lucky b*tch.
Second snack:
Plantain chips. I have no idea how much. They’re just my fav. Then I ate probably about 5-6 pieces of asparagus with a piece of bacon. It was delish.
Lunch:
With all the snacking, I decided I should actually have a real meal to calm the snacking down. So I made myself a bowl of squash soup topped with more asparagus and bacon, with plantain chips on the side. It was delicious. And filling.
Snack:
Couple bites of my own spinach and artichoke dip.
Some random pieces of walnuts and pecans throughout the day.
3-4 pieces of coffee Taza chocolate. But who’s counting, right? Am I right, or am I right?
Dinner:
Some cauliflower soup, some carrots, and some kind of pork sausage.
Dessert:
2 hunkin’ chunks of dark chocolate. Can you tell what time of the month it is? Geez man, geez.
I’m done. Thanks for listening/reading/not caring.
PS- this was a no workout day today 🙁 sad

I came across those Coco-Roons in HOME GOODS of all places. I about died. I only bought 2 flavors (probably a good thing so I don’t eat a ton of them) but I definitely need to go back and snag some more. I also got potato chips cooked in avocado oil. Like, what?! Who knew Home Goods was such a Paleo snack paradise.
Hehe you do look like you could be naked in that photo. That cauliflower soup looks really yummy so thick and delicious!
Where can I find those “cocoroons” ?? I’m having surgery Thursday and I MUST have those in my snack arsenal!!!! I’m convinced they will help the ACL heal. 🙂 I’ve seen similar but it’s the almond butter and jelly that got me!
Thank you God for someone that still snacks randomly when they feel like it. I’m so sick of people that count out 5 blueberries and call it a snack. A snack is a handfull of nuts, or a couple peices of chocolate, or a few spoonfulls out of the nut butter jar. If you meticulously measure everything it ruins the fun 😛
All that to say thanks for being real. You go girl!
That asparagus & bacon looks delish! Thanks for posting. Gotta eat to keep metabolism going and keep from snarfing a ton of crap at once.
Not related- just moved to CA from MD. I thought my signed copy of your cookbook was gone. I was sweating, running around the house, tearing into things like a mad woman. Found it in the box with my Bibles. Fitting, I think. Immediately made blueberry muffins to calm me down. Whew, that was scary!
You food all looks amazing delicious. Who cares if people thought you ate too much? That just means they’re jealous that they can’t!! 😀
You are so awesome! Love your site, love your blogs. Question- how many days a week do you eat bacon? I find it hard to go a day without :S
Depends on the week but usually 2-3. I eat it more when I don’t have anything else in the house
They have those Coco Roons at Sprouts and Whole Foods! They are AMAZING! You should try to recreate them because they are kind of pricey and homemade would be cheaper.
What are your tips for Paleo for weight loss? I have been crossfitting for three months and completely plan on sticking with it. I have been paleo for two months, with cheats on the weekends UGH I need to get better about that. But haven’t seen much weight come off! People are asking me if I have lost weight but I want to drop a lot more fat. What should I eat?!
it’s usually cutting out heavy carbs like fruit, sweet potatoes or starchy vegetables. but i’m no dietician and everybody is different
Hi Julie,
Im going back and forth between 100% Paleo and including gluten-free/dairy-free foods (like bars and shakes) that have grains in them. I know that you are not 100% Paleo, and I just wonder if you feel a difference when you eat non-Paleo foods? When did you start introducing non-paleo foods? Pros and cons?
I absolutely do feel the difference. I started reintroducing them pretty quickly on weekends and found that i felt sick and hated life so i took them out more
