I’m out of my funk!! I changed up my schedule a little bit, went shopping at World Market, ordered an adorable purple jacket on The Clymb, painted my nails, had a crazy hard workout, ate some leftover gluten free pizza, and just smiled. I’m pretty good at getting out of funks, mostly because I really don’t like being in a bad mood, so I just snapped out of it. Yay.

But let’s talk about this crazy hard workout I did yesterday. I don’t blab too much about every workout I do, but when it’s worth talking about and worth trying, I talk. So yesterday at CrossFit Broadway we had a workout that went like this:

Every Minute on the Minute for 24min: ( alternating)
Min 1: 200/175 m Row
Min 2: 6 Power Snatch (135/95)
Min 3: 15 Wall Ball

You barely get any rest between the row and snatch, then the snatches get extremely hard, then your legs start to get more and more tired each round. At least mine did. It was just so hard. You’re 3 rounds in and cussing up a storm. At least I did. I love workouts like that, to the point and miserable. You should try it. Do it.

Wanna hear something interesting? Ok good. So I got this email yesterday about sending in a casting video to be part of a reality show about being part of the growing internet/blogging world. I tried to first picture what my casting video would be like, and second what a reality show with me in it would be like. I don’t think I have that much to offer. I mean, as I write this, I’m sitting on the table in my living room, watching E! network about celebrities and heading to the gym to coach soon. And that’s pretty much my day: Grocery shop, cook, eat, workout, eat, blog, social media, emails (I hate emails), piece of chocolate, sometimes wash my hair, coaching, dinner, and watch my favorite shows. That’s what it looks like. I’m pretty happy with my life but it doesn’t really make for good tv. The only thing that would be cool to watch is how swollen my feet get when I drink alcohol. Wait, my feet are totally ugly so I take that back. I got nothing. And if I have nothing worth watching, they would create something, wouldn’t you think?

I really want to do this with with my Coffee Cake Banana Bread. Yep. That looks to die for. How Sweet It Is never stops amazing me. I CANNOT WAIT until her cookbook comes out! I don’t give a crap that it’s not paleo. I know the photography in her cookbook is going to be jaw dropping.

PS- I’M SO EXCITED MY COOKBOOK IS FINISHED!!

I still need to check out your first book! Hopefully before your second one comes out, ha.

Also, I would watch your reality show just to see someone do that WOD without collapsing. I feel great about myself when I do 10 40-lb shoulder presses. I think I would die.

  2. Madison @ Eating for Balance says:

I would love to see you on a reality show. I feel like you would be much more down to earth and less high maintenance than most. You’d be a star 😉

Almond butter is so blah! tastes like cardboard…strangley i’ve gotten use to it. But I am totally making a jar of this in 3 weeks after my little 21day superhero challenge! yumm

  4. Robin says:

Do you think this would work with sunflower seeds/sunbutter?

    1. juli says:

it would taste a little different but it would still work!

I am stealing your idea and making that grilled cheese. mwahahaha. Next weekend, it’s happening. That is just insane and delicious and I can’t wait. You are a genius, JB.

Has anybody tried this with cocoa powder (and maybe more coconut oil to add more liquid, to make up for the lack of melted chocolate)? On day 12 of the 21dsd, so while I know it wouldn’t be sweet without the chocolate chips, I think I may give it a try..

    1. juli says:

i think it would still be ok, just be careful that it doesn’t taste too bitter without a sweetener in it

      1. Kendall says:

For anyone who might be wondering– ended up using a LITTLE bit of honey (1 tsp?) just to take a little bitterness off. Also, used a blend of normal cocoa powder and “black onyx” cocoa powder from savory spice shop in boulder (this place is amazing) and I think that reduced the bitterness some…
