Thanksgiving is next week. That means I’m over cooking Thanksgiving recipes. I’m done. So we might as well round them all up in one place. I’m going include all my recipes that are Thanksgiving related or I envision them on my own table and put them on the page. I’ll also be including links to other great blogs out there that have amazing fall recipes that could be included on your Thanksgiving menu. I wonder if I’ll celebrate Thanksgiving this year. I’ve kind of already ate my way through Thanksgiving.
How about I just talk about what I’m thankful for this year. Like this pumpkin granola in the blog post picture. I love that stuff. Now you can do the same in the comments! Here’s my list!
- Anyone that has ever read my blog, laughed at my poor humor, or enjoyed one of my recipes. This blog keeps going because you keep supporting. So thank YOU for everything you have done to help it grow.
- My parents for always being there no matter what. They support me even when they don’t support my language.
- Laura and Sergio. Even though Sergio is away until February, he is still the best man i know.
- My Mountain Hard Wear jacket. If it weren’t for this thing, I would not live in CO.
- Anything chocolate related.
- Coconut butter.
- Attractive males. There are few and far between, but I am thankful for the single ones. Which I know of none at the moment. So I guess we can retract that entire last statement.
- Kombucha.
- Lululemon spandex.
- My Mac. She’s so great and loves me back. And she never acts up.
That was too many things, but 10 felt right. Now for food.

Juli, You are my thanksgiving saver! Now I can eat lots of delicious food on Thanksgiving and not feel horrible the next day. Love your blog. You should do a movie night treats special, for those movie nights that we all want to eat popcorn and candy at. Again I love your blog and your awesome humor thank you for the recipes!
I’ve been following you for awhile now – your humorous blogs, superbly amazing recipes and awesome food porn!! I’ve tried to make a few of your recipes and they never end up looking as nice as yours – still taste great but because of this – I think we should get married – you can cook and I can clean! I’m no lezzie and my bf is actually laughing while I’m writing this … But your food just conpletely makes me speechless because of how amazing and creative it is (and because I love chocolate, pumpkin or coconut anything) … That is all!!
Any ideas on how to cook the bird? We have a 24 lbs organic turkey ready to go. Do we brine it? If so whats in good paleo brine? I know most brines are salt based, does that make the turkey super salty. We went paleo about 6 months ago and have really cut back salt And what on earth do you contain all that water & turkey in and still wedge the thing in the fridge. Thanks & Gobble Gobble!
no clue!! i’ve never cooked one!
Brining a turkey does not make it salty. It allows water to be stored in the cells of the meat, aka, helping it to stay moist during the cooking process. The brine needs to have a higher salt content than the meat for this process to work. A cooler works best for storing the turkey and brine. If you live somewhere cold, just stick it outside (unless it’s going to be below 32), otherwise keep a stock of ice in your freezer and keep the water in the cooler and turkey cold with that, it only needs to brine for 24 hours. Make sure to rinse the bird before you roast it. It will come out great!
