You guys asked for it, so here it is!! I had a couple messages recently for freezer-friendly recipes, so I went through my favorite PaleOMG recipes to round up the best ones. But before we get into the recipes, let’s talk about the best way to defrost and reheat the food your frozen food. All you gotta do is follow two simple steps:
- Defrost the food from the freezer.
- Once defrosted, reheat the meal using the same technique you cooked it in the first place. For example, if you made waffles, defrost them then reheat them back in the waffle iron. If you cooked a pork tenderloin in the oven, defrost it then reheat it in the oven. If you made a hash in a pan, reheat it back through in a pan. Get it? The only thing that will be a tad different is an instant pot recipe – those can often be reheated in a pot over the stovetop instead of in an instant pot!
Hopefully this round-up helps you feed your family a little easier during these crazy times! And if you have any PaleOMG recipes you love to freeze then reheat later, leave them in the comments below to share with readers!

Food should NEVER be defrosted on the counter. Defrost in the fridge. Please correct your post unless you want even more people getting sick. Here are the USDA recommends ways of defrosting. https://www.fsis.usda.gov/wps/portal/fsis/topics/food-safety-education/get-answers/food-safety-fact-sheets/safe-food-handling/the-big-thaw-safe-defrosting-methods-for-consumers/bigthaw2
thanks for the heads up Kate! i removed that from my post. luckily i never get sick myself from defrosting on the countertop, but i’ll definitely keep that in mind!
Thank you for doing this!!
Yes! I did ask for these. Thanks! Not having guests over and trying to still cook big meals efficiently Thank you!
glad i could help, Lauren!
Juli! Are there any secrets to freezing them? Or is it as easy as throw it into a freezer bag and it’s good to go? I fear my freezer but have been trying to get better at using it bc it’s nice to have a lazy day but still have awesome food! Thanks for this list!
it really depends on the recipe, but i tend to just keep mine in glass containers vs bags
Would be amazing to have another update on this one or update your recipes with a freezer friendly label 🙂
